Transit riders show up! We met at Dufferin and Bloor today, along with @TOenviro and local Bathurst business leaders to speak loudly in favour of dedicated transit lanes.

The Province of Ontario is seeking feedback on potential measures that would give increased power to the police and limit people's charter right to protest. Comment is open until October 31: regulatoryregistry.gov.on.ca…
We asked every candidate to make commitments to improving transit in our Transit Survey.
Here's how your new Council committed to improving transit.
Happy to see that 6 of the 7 newly elected city councillors received a perfect score!

After not getting responses from Bradford to their questions, leaders at @ttcriders, @TOenviro and @CycleToronto write that they're left wondering where he stands on the issues, and who he's listening to. thegrindmag.ca/bradford-didn…
We did a deep dive into Bradford's budget proposal and are deeply concerned that this plan could lead to service cuts, more slow zones and fare increases.
You can read the piece here:

In the last 3 years, the City has committed billions more to TTC repairs, increased service while freezing fares, but substantial funding gaps remain.
Our concern is that taking on more debt to replace existing funding won't leave enough to maintain and improve transit service.
The next mayor will face huge decisions about TTC repairs, service and reliability. We asked all candidates to commit to eliminate slow zones, speed up streetcars and keep fares affordable, and how they're going to pay for it.
Bradford didn't respond.

Why is Brad Bradford afraid to take a survey about the climate crisis? Having 1 of the 2 major candidates ignoring this important issue only makes the mayoral race worse for it. #TOpoli

In response to a question, Bradford says he has "no intention" to raise TTC fares." Doesn't clarify if that is a 2027 promise or full-term, but adds he doesn't think "we have to" raise fares for transit in the city. #ToPoli
What??
Bradford is an urban planner. He was on the TTC Board when the Eglinton East lanes were put in, and even moved a motion supporting continued implementation and reporting on transit priority measures.
He should know better.
Brad Bradford in Scarborough talking about transit, arguing Olivia Chow prioritized a waterfront LRT instead of Eglinton East LRT.
Promises he would work to remove priority bus lanes on local roads including Kingston, Morningside & Midland.
Would keep on Eglinton. #ToPoli
To jog your memory, here’s the exact motion Bradford put out calling for this implementation:

As someone who rides the TTC every day, it's clear to me how important it is to invest in public transit 🚍

@MayorOliviaChow was at Kennedy Station.
I was on camera to thank the Mayor and gave a shout out to the transit group I'm apart of (@ttcriders) for getting the busway built.
Note: I'm better behind the camera than in front of it lol. Also forget to shout out @transittoronto lol
We've released the results of our transit policy survey! We asked all mayoral & council candidates about their commitments to improving transit.
Of the leading mayoral candidates, only Olivia Chow completed our survey; Chris Alexander made a platform commitment to hike fares
Transit riders need to know which candidates will listen to their concerns. That’s why it matters not only how candidates answered these questions, but which candidates chose not to answer them at all.
See how all the candidates responded to our survey:
