If you are engaging in #cognitivedissonance by intermittently wearing a respirator 😷 during this ongoing #SARS2 #pandemic, you are not as noble as you claim to be.
Especially, if you post photos & videos of yourself w/o 😀 a respirator at events.
Please be consistent. #MaskUp

Flu is ahead of schedule Covid has actually rebounded and respiratory viruses are near or over 10% of all ER visits in some states. Large indoor events are super spreaders and are accelerating cases. They should be completely banned during high levels of viruses.

The Purifying Table (7-Fan) MIGHT be our favorite purifier yet. It has a very high clean air delivery rate (400 cfm which means a large room, for example: 20’x20’ 400 sq ft, gets 7.5 air changes per hour). But it’s still quiet and unobtrusive. We like to let it double as furniture and use it as a side table or even a nightstand.
It comes as an unassembled kit, which you’ll understand once you feel how sturdy and furniture-like it is. Shipping it assembled would be pretty wild, but good news…it’s our easiest kit to assemble (tied with the brand new Purifying Prism)!

Something I wish everyone understood is: viruses age you (and your blood vessels)! studies found measurable arterial stiffening after infection with Covid and premature vascular aging. they show elevated stroke & heart attack risk that lasts for 3+ years post-infection

Third-Generation Frame Mask – Zhou Liang’s Mask (Ziga)
1. Five major upgrades: manufacturing process, connection method, frame, sealing ring, and performance.
2. New manufacturing process increases breathable surface area by 2% and reduces airflow resistance by 2%.
3. KN100 model utilizes new materials, reducing resistance by 30%.
4. ZERO model adopts a new structural design; resistance is 20 Pa (KN95/XL) and 30 Pa (KN100/XL).
5. New connection method (S, M, L, XL) allows for easy switching between ear-loop and head-loop wearing styles.
6. New sealing ring material paired with the new frame improves initial fit and overall wearing comfort.
7. New frame features an updated profile, pressure-relief channels, and modular mounting holes (S, M, L, XL).
8. Upgraded "ONE" material enhances the overall structural strength of the ONE model.
9. New frame includes size and orientation indicators and offers an improved field of view.
10. Five modular insert options designed to meet personalized wearing needs.
11. Resolves the issue where the elastic strap might snap—rendering the mask unusable—when pulled backward (an issue found in Zimi masks).
12. Allows users to freely choose their preferred elastic straps.
Product Details:
1. XXS and XS sizes retain the previous welded elastic strap method.
2. XXS and XS sizes do not feature the modular frame design but retain the pressure-relief channels and the new profile design.
3. XXS and XS sizes come without valves; users can manually cut a hole to install a valve if desired.
4. Foam strips are no longer included as a free gift but are available for separate purchase.
5. Black filter elements remain available.
6. Purchasing filter elements requires having the elastic strap and frame ready.
7. Elastic straps come in two lengths (30cm and 50cm) and four material specifications: 7mm seersucker, 7mm hollow, 8mm hollow, and 7mm flat. Initial color options are white, black, and yellow. 8. Filter element (S, M, L, XL): Compatible with both headloop and earloop styles; switchable as desired.

The longer I’m in this industry (24 yrs so far), the more I realize there is opportunity in optimism. We have to be optimistic about the future. The future is what we are trying to secure.

InfoSec was tired before AI. We’ve been in the practical security trenches for decades. I’m just gonna have another iced latte and keep fighting. This is what we’re here for. Joyful success.

I am absolutely heartbroken. 💔 I was just with RJ a few days ago. We spent hours hanging out and talking, played in a charity golf tournament, and I took him on his very first hot air balloon ride. When it was time for him to leave, I dropped him off at the airport to head home.
It was incredibly difficult to watch him walk away because I knew he was struggling with some difficult feelings. I offered him a place in my home where he could take a step back, reset, and have some time to think without the pressures of everyday life. But he told me he needed to go, so I made him promise to call me if he ever needed to talk or needed anything at all. 😔
I first met RJ in 2009 while filming Breaking Bad, and we remained friends all these years. He was genuinely one of the kindest people I have ever known. He treated everyone he met with warmth, compassion, and respect.
RJ was also a passionate advocate for disability awareness and rights. He frequently spoke at schools and nonprofit organizations, offering encouragement, hope, and inspiration to people with disabilities. He wanted them to know that they could live full, meaningful lives, just as he did. He gave so much of himself to his community and made a difference in the lives of so many people.
We have lost a truly beautiful soul, a compassionate human being 🙏🏼😔
PLEASE BE KIND. You never truly know what someone else may be going through behind closed doors. Check in on your loved ones, your friends, your colleagues, and anyone who might be struggling or simply need someone to listen. Never underestimate the power of a conversation, a kind word, or letting someone know they are not alone. Sometimes, simply being there for someone can make all the difference.
If you are going through a difficult time, please, PLEASE reach out to someone. You do not have to face your struggles alone. Talk to a friend, a loved one, or someone you trust. If you are in the United States and need immediate emotional support, you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Please check on one another. Please listen. Please show compassion. And above all, BE KIND. ❤️

Miss talking about microscopy :)
Where does the Spike protein end up in the body?
Using DISCO-seq, researchers like me can now explore this in 3D by mapping SARS-CoV-2 Spike S1 across the bodies of mice.
Could this help us better understand #LongCOVID?

anyway here’s the analysis of roughly 153,000 ppl (Xie & Al-Aly, Nature), that shows substantial one-year risk across a wide range of cardiovascular problems - arrhythmias, heart failure, blood clots, heart attack - after Covid infection

Which means, in this SARS2 clusterfuck, unless public health get it together and convince the selfish and stupid ones to start wearing masks (at least when prevalence is high) - everyone is going to end up unhappy.

quite dystopian to walk out of digger as the only person at my showing wearing a mask. iykyk.
