The Chinese are buying land and growing cannabis here at scale. Prohibition does this. The Chinese were here to run illicit booze 1920-1933 as well...guess when they stopped that? We end prohibition, we end cartels. Not hard. 12newsnow.com/article/news/c…

If these products are being sold to “children”, government has no one to blame but itself. For years, the hemp industry has begged lawmakers to establish age restrictions and enforce responsible regulations. In the absence of action, much of the industry implemented 21+ policies on its own. Now those same lawmakers point to illegal, trademark-infringing products—already produced by bad actors—as justification for banning an entire legal industry. If protecting children were truly the goal, they would regulate and enforce. Instead, they choose prohibition. And when prohibition inevitably pushes this market underground, the responsible businesses will disappear while the bad actors keep doing exactly what they’re doing now, except probably worse. Our government pretending to protect children is LAUGHABLE especially when most of them take money from alcohol and pharmaceutical industries. Pathetic.
Intoxicating hemp products — often called “gas station weed” — are widely available and accessible to children. These dangerous products should NEVER be sold to children. I’m leading the fight in Congress to put an end to the sale of these products. This is a serious public health and safety issue, and Congress must act.

To the contrary, banning hemp THC is likely going to cost someone their election.
Texas has a choice: learn from the harms caused by heavily commercialized drugs—or repeat them. Legal does not mean harmless. Regulation does not eliminate risk. And “natural” does not mean safe. We should not allow a profit-driven hemp THC industry to normalize, market, and commercialize more intoxicating products while minimizing their risks to Texas families and communities. Texas should not repeat the mistakes of the past. **Say NO to addiction for profit. Say NO to the commercialization of more intoxicating drugs. Say NO to retail THC.** Learn more at **SafeHealthyTexas.org** #txlege

I feel like I can envision a type of guy who likes weed enough to figure out who Dan Patrick is and decides to mobilize against him. nobody gets weirdly and suddenly motivated like guys who love weed.

Especially anyone who has burned one in Santa Elena Canyon
i do actually think that the THC ban and the Big Bend border wall stuff are going to be factors in various Texas races just because you have two things that people seem to near-universally like that are now being messed with

It is. Texans are done with this absurdity.
Not a THC guy, but the THC ban in Texas seems about the absolute dumbest thing to do in the year of our lord 2026

This is wild since I’ve since I’ve sat through countless hours of his employees explaining why a judge needs to let them ban THCA
Q: What's your thoughts on the state's THC ban? KEN PAXTON: Uhm. I don't know the details of it, but let's talk later. (Paxton is currently being sued because he's trying to enforce Texas's ban to the maximum extent possible, so this is a lie!)

We accept that Challenge. You’ve been ignoring Texans for long enough with your paid for by corporations policies that benefit corporations over Texans!
The day after Governor Abbott vetoed the hemp ban SB3, Lt Gov Dan Patrick went off. The quote: “I’m not going to legalize marijuana in Texas. If people want to vote me out of office for that, so be it.” #txlege

I'm a criminal defense attorney in Texas. District Attorneys all over Texas who are already overwhelmed prosecuting violent crimes such as rape ( Greg Abbott said he eradicated) and now have to grapple with whether to prosecute grandma who is taking gummies for her arthritis!
Texans should know whether the THC gummies they bought last month are legal or whether they’re a felony. Greg Abbott is playing politics with our laws. When I’m governor, I’ll let the people vote.

The ATTORNEY GENERAL doesn’t really know about a recent ban in his state???????? So is he a liar or incompetent? (Trick question, it’s both)

Paxton incriminates himself here on multiple levels. First, he flees a challenging question. He can't handle them. Second, he's in court defending the ban.

Uhhh…. You don’t know the details of a law in the state where you are in charge of enforcing the laws? And this particular law is currently involved in litigation involving YOUR office. Y’all.
