My reason...
They did their part. Now it’s time to do yours.
Daddy and Julian Bond understood that the right to vote was worth fighting for. We honor their work by exercising that right and protecting it for others.
Today is National Black Man Voter Day. Check your voting location and hours. Vote early where available, and bring someone with you. If you’ve already voted, help someone else get to the polls.
Our families, our communities and our future deserve your participation.

Kid Cudi will star as artist Jean-Michel Basquiat in “Jean,” a film he wrote and will direct. Filming is set to begin in 2027.
"For years people have asked me about playing Jean Michel Basquiat in a film,” Cudi wrote on social media. “But no project actually came to be. This year, I finally said f*ck it, ima write it myself. Did a wardrobe test, got a wig made (this isnt the final just a rough, trust me we gon get it perfect). But I wanted to tease what we been cooking a bit. This film will be a love letter to Jean, the 80s and NY city. Jean has inspired me all through out my career, and it will be the biggest honor to tell his story in a way we haven’t seen before. I know a lot of yall gon be like FINALLY hahaha I love it. This ones for all those dreamers out there."

James Milton Turner attended John Berry Meachum’s Freedom Floating School, where he received an education and grew up under Meachum's mentorship. He would go on to found Lincoln University, Missouri's oldest historically Black institution of higher learning
Equality cannot exist on paper while inequality persists in practice.
A new lawsuit involving Lincoln University in Missouri is raising a larger question about what educational equity really requires. Access to higher education is not enough if the institutions educating Black students do not have the resources necessary to provide equitable opportunities.
When HBCUs are underfunded, the consequences do not end with one budget or one graduating class. Students, families, and generations can carry the impact.
We cannot celebrate HBCUs while accepting inequity in how they are funded. Educational justice requires investment, opportunity, and accountability.
