"This is what we are willing to die for as Palestinians", Hazem Jbara told us, showing us half a bag of olives—all he managed to harvest in 10 minutes before settlers attacked him.
I watched from the rooftop as they came from two sides, trying to trap Hazem and @infinite_jaz and @the_andrey_x , who accompanied him. They barely escaped.
Marj Sia is one of the most dangerous roads in the West Bank. For Palestinians, harvesting olives on the land beside it takes immense resilience—and means risking their lives.

There is something deeply painful about the story of DCP Abba Kyari.
For years, his name commanded attention in Nigeria’s fight against crime. He led the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), a unit associated with high-profile operations against notorious Kldnåppers, armed robb£rs and other dag€rous criminãls. His team arrested Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, the notorious kidnapper whose name once sent fear across the country.
To many Nigerians, Abba Kyari represented the kind of police officer they wanted to believe in: fearless, determined and willing to take the fight to criminals who had made life miserable for ordinary citizens.
Then came the shocking turn.
In February 2022, he was arrested following allegations of involvement in cocaine tråfficking and the handling of seized narcotics. The same officer whose career had been built around fighting criminals was suddenly facing serious allegations of his own.
Honestly, I wish his story had turned out differently.
I wish the allegations had never emerged. I wish we could still be talking about his exploits, celebrating successful operations and wondering how far he would rise in the Nigeria Police Force. I wish a man who appeared to have so much potential had not found himself in this position.
Imagine the operations he could have led, the criminals he could have helped bring to justice by now, and the legacy he could have built if his career had continued on its earlier trajectory.
But admiration cannot replace accountability, and allegations must be decided by the courts. As of October 2026, his cocaine-related trial remains ongoing, and he has denied the charges.
That is what makes this story so complicated. You can appreciate the impact someone appeared to have made in fighting crime and still be deeply troubled by the allegations against him.
Abba Kyari’s story is a painful reminder that professional brilliance alone is not enough. Integrity must accompany talent, because the very qualities that take a person to the top cannot protect a career from the consequences of alleged wrongdoing.
I genuinely wish his story had taken a different path. I wish he could have gone on to achieve even greater things for Nigeria. Above all, I wish that, whatever the court ultimately determines, his name could have remained associated with fighting crime rather than becoming entangled in allegations that have overshadowed his achievements.
What a painful reminder of how much potential can be placed in jeopardy, and how important it is to protect the legacy one spends a lifetime building.
I really loved that Man back then 💔
