The game happened on June 19—Juneteenth itself—and they not airing it until June 29.

This year, they dimmed the lights.

It’s because of what happened when they aired the 2024 game LIVE.
Reggie Jackson told truths that made everyone uncomfortable. And MLB learned their lesson. 👇
The 2024 broadcast was PRAISED for being authentic and unfiltered.
But instead of learning “this is what representation should look like,” MLB learned “this is what we need to avoid.”
That tells you everything about their priorities.
We see the pattern. We understand the game.
When institutions delay broadcasts of events celebrating Black history, they’re choosing control over authenticity.
Don’t let them package our joy. Don’t let them edit our truth.
