Slán abhaile from Teach Úll 👋 Thanks to all you incredible people who keep coming back to us and to the new folk who trusted us to bring you something special. We hope you had as much fun in the castle as we did. See you next year 😘

Last night @chockenberry closed Teach Úll with a beautiful talk on fear and the pursuit of excellence. It was wonderful ❤️

And that’s a wrap. Thanks for playing everyone. Those who have tickets, you’ll be hearing from us soon. For those in the pay-what-you-can lottery, we’ll be approaching potential patrons. Fingers crossed. Everyone else, see you next time!

Some of you really court the last minute. The deadline has been extended to midnight tonight, US Pacific Time. After that, all ticket sales will close, and we’ll get to work on our most personal event yet.

A Family Event

Family is at the core of Úll. Every year, for the very last scene, we get everyone up on stage to take a family photo. We adopted this from…

The kids session at Úll has been such a joy to see happen for the last few years. Knowing that my own little lad will get to enjoy it this year brings feels that I can’t actually articulate. 😭

…we already have a few kids signed up, but whatever the final tally is, we’ll be designing a programme for kids. This is the third year in a row that kids have been especially welcome at Úll with kids activities and sessions.

Another couple of things that have come up: 1) As an introvert, will I enjoy Úll? Yes! We literally invented a session format with introverts in mind: medium.com/the-%C3%BAll-blog… 2) Are families welcome? Yes! We have a subsidised Significant Other ticket and kids tickets.

If you can’t afford a ticket but want to come to Úll, we have a page on the site for that: 2018.ull.ie/pricey …there are no strings or conditions attached, and if we can’t find a sponsor to subsidise, then you’ll get a full refund: nitter.cf/illologist/status/1032…

Hey Paul, I love what you’re doing with Úll this year. Unfortunately I can’t afford a ticket right now, but I’d love to chip in to help a POC attend. What’s the best way to do that?

Just three more days till we have our final list of attendees. You want to be on that list. 2018.ull.ie

We don’t know what’s more exciting... That Úll veterans are coming back to us again or that complete strangers trust us enough to buy a ticket without any knowledge of what’s coming. Úll folk are the best folk ❤️ 2018.ull.ie

Donnngggg. 4 more days until planning begins. 2018.ull.ie (as if planning didn’t begin in March 😱)
A few folks have emailed asking questions “will this or that be available?” … seems like they didn’t get the memo. Once we close sales on Saturday, we’ll email some questions to all ticket-holders. If there are specific requirements, we’re here to serve, or die trying!

I’m pretty convinced I wrote about naming conferences on the Tito blog before, but here are my thoughts on the matter: medium.com/@paulca/whats-in-… TL;DR * The X Summit/Forum/etc is boring * [topic]Conf is generally fine * I’m delighted with “Admission” and “Teach Úll” as names

This is really happening. One thing about the 5-day ticket deadline: bedrooms will be allocated on a first-buy, first-serve basis. Just saying.
