So “workers owning the means of production” turns into “foreign workers & trans people in sports.”
For the majority of Americans that don’t understand, socialism is collective ownership of the means of production in an attempt to resolve the contradictions caused by capitalism.
Its objective is more important than how it achieves this, which is to create a better society using markets, whereas capitalism prioritizes creating better markets using society.
America is a colony, its primary purpose is extraction of wealth. The government and the corporations who own the media have brainwashed you to think that any alternative to capitalism won’t work.
They do this by artificially impoverishing socialist countries and shaping your perception of socialism and communism by omitting key details of what actually happened (such as their involvement in the conditions).
“ you want to replace American workers with foreigners workers, and you want boys to play in girls' sports”
@grok is this a good definition of socialism by Vance?
