Today is International Day for Countering #HateSpeech. And today we & dozens of other CSO's are leaving @X. The platform has increasingly developed in a direction that is no longer in line with our core values. It encourages hate speech & treats political opinions unequally. 1/3

Die Orte digitaler Gewalt sind vielseitig, z.B. Soziale Netzwerke, Messenger Apps, Chat-Räume, etc. Anders als analoge Gewalt spielt sich digitale Gewalt oft rund um die Uhr vor einem riesigen Publikum ab. Täter:innen können dabei anonym agieren und Angriffe gezielt planen. (3/4)
Digitale Gewalt bedroht uns als ganze Gesellschaft: Hass im Netz verstärkt gesellschaftliche #Diskriminierung und Unterdrückung. Für ein gerechtes und gutes gesellschaftliches Miteinander muss das Netz sicher für alle und frei von Gewalt sein.

@mufgbk_official is one of the largest financiers of fossil gas developments in the Verde Island Passage in the Philippines, thus threatening this biodiversity hotspot. MUFG have invested 177.37 million USD in 2023 on @sanmiguel_ph, the largest gas developer in the VIP. 2/3
MUFG must stop financing climate-wrecking companies like @TotalEnergies. In Papua New Guinea, TotalEnergies plans to extract fossil gas & export it via new #LNG terminal. This is not in line with the 1.5° target: no development of new gas fields and new gas infrastructure. 3/3
