I visited Norms Rare Guitars in Tarzana, California yesterday, for the first time. What a thrill for a guitar collector. On my bucket list is a Gibson Super 400, a large jazz box, that costs in the low to mid five figures. They had nine on the floor! I played three, and it was such an other worldly experience. Am I the only one who had repeated problems with Jersey's Mikes? The reduction in quality and quantity for its sliced meats, tuna and cheese is quite upsetting. I'm in the Dallas area, and have tried four different locations in past two weeks. What happened?

Holy Guacamole! My new Epiphone Sheraton II Pro has been touched by angels. The tone is shockingly fabulous, with incredible sustain, and the sweetest church-bell like chime on the upper GBE strings. My D'Angelico Premier Mini DC XT with OEM Seymour Duncan pickups, an SH-4 JB for the bridge and SH-2n Jazz Model for the neck. I just got this back from a pro setup at "The Guitar Doctor" in Plano, where I changed from 10-46 round strings to 11-48 flat wounds. Wow.. the flats make my admittedly sketchy jazz/blues scales and chords sound soooo smooth, warm, crystal clear, with a bell-like chime.
