USRowing has appointed Joel Shinofield as Chief Executive Officer following a six-month national search shaped by input from more than 200 members of the rowing community.
Joel brings three decades of experience strengthening Olympic sport, most recently at USA Swimming.
A novice rower himself with long-standing ties to the rowing community, Joel will spend the coming weeks and months meeting with rowing leaders and community members across the country as he begins his tenure.

The U.S. lineups are officially set for the 2026 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals, with a mix of returning world champions, national team veterans, and rising U19 talent ready to hit the beach in China.

USRowing is pleased to announce its domestic regatta schedule for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
The upcoming schedules include several updates based on member feedback, regional priorities, and USRowing’s continued focus on providing competitive racing, development, and championship opportunities throughout the season.
-Northeast Youth Championships return to Saratoga, NY for the first time since 2021.
-Masters Nationals returns as a dedicated four-day championship, with the 2027 event set for July 15–18 in Indianapolis, IN.
-USRowing transitioning away from the Youth, U17, U23, and Open summer national competition.
-The Pacific Masters Championships debut in 2027, replacing the Northwest Masters Championships and expanding the event’s regional reach. We want your input! USRowing is evaluating the schedule for the 2027 Pacific Masters Championships and is seeking member feedback. Members are invited to share whether they would prefer the event to take place May 21–23 or June 25–27, 2027.

USRowing is partnering with FOYS (Focus On Your Sport), a rowing-built technology platform bringing membership, club management, regatta operations, athlete & coach tools, and more into one connected system.
The phased rollout begins in 2026, with opportunities for members to beta test, provide feedback, and get hands-on support.

David S. Huntington has been elected as the Northeast Regional Representative to the USRowing Board of Directors.
With more than 40 years of experience as an athlete, volunteer, fundraiser, and leader in the rowing community, including serving as a trustee of the USRowing Foundation, David brings deep expertise in governance, strategic leadership, and growing the sport at every level.

After winning world championship gold with the U.S. women's four, Camille VanderMeer made history once again—becoming the first woman to compete in Cambridge's newly renamed open division at the centuries-old May Bumps race. Stroking the Peterhouse eight, she helped the club claim the coveted Headship.
