Well deserved recognition for those who battled the most devastating wildfire season this state has ever seen. Great work from our friends and partners at DNR.
Utah faced one of its toughest wildfire seasons in years. Through dangerous conditions, long days, and time away from their families, our firefighters and emergency responders showed extraordinary courage and dedication.
We gathered to recognize the incredible work of those who helped protect Utah this wildfire season. Many missed important family milestones and made personal sacrifices to keep their fellow Utahns safe.
We also remember the lives lost and the families forever changed by these fires.
I'm deeply grateful to everyone who answered the call and helped protect our state.

A quick update on the San Juan River flood recovery:
First, your tap water at home is completely safe to drink.
While E. coli levels in the river are dropping, river and standing floodwaters are still NOT safe to touch or play in. 🧵👇 (1/3)
Health alert from San Juan County Public Health: High levels of Escherichia coli (E. coli) detected in the San Juan River.
E. coli levels in the San Juan River are above health-based thresholds. The public should avoid contact with the river until further notice.

E. coli can remain in wet environments for several weeks. People helping with flood recovery should protect open wounds from contaminated water, practice proper hand hygiene, and wear personal protective equipment, such as gloves, eye protection and mouth coverings.
5/6
Recovery workers should also ensure their tetanus vaccinations are current.
San Juan County Public Health urges residents to follow these precautions and monitor official updates on the San Juan County Public Health Facebook page.
