Scientists have created one of the most detailed 3D reconstructions of a human cell (eukaryotic cell) ever produced. This groundbreaking model, often termed a "Cellular Landscape Cross-Section Through a Eukaryotic Cell," combines data from X-ray tomography, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and cryo-electron microscopy to map molecular structures in extreme detail.

While we do not study apoptotic bodies in my lab, they are pretty cool! This cell expressing a membrane marker was videoed through a microscope while it was dying by @EmmaKoory. The video captured just the bottom of the cell. The cell rounds up as dying cells tend to do (i.e., it disappears from the region being imaged). Then apoptotic bodies come down and do cool stuff! In case you were wondering...... Yes, I am known internationally for my use of precise scientific language like "cool stuff" :-) #CellBiology

The Field Learns to Sew Itself This animation uses a moving quadratic differential q(z,t)dz², where zeros and double poles steer thousands of particles along the field’s horizontal trajectories, turning the complex plane into a living fabric of mathematically guided threads.

Energy isn't just about providing the power needed for physical, chemical, or biological processes. Energy can actually create and change behaviors in systems. Today on The Science and Experience of Energy, we discuss two well-known demonstrations that beautifully illustrate how energy inputs shape the behavior of physical systems. While biological systems are more complex and malleable than spinning disks and self-assembling wires (video below), the principle is the same. The flow of energy influences behaviors at all levels—from within our individual mitochondria to how we think about and interact with our world. open.substack.com/pub/tseene…
