Prevention Starts Before the Storm!
When disaster strikes, minutes matter, but the real difference is made months in advance.
At the ongoing Africa Early Warning Forum in Addisb Ababa, running from 2 to 4 September, Dr. @vcoparah , our Head of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, delivered a clear message: no country can out forecast a hazard alone.
His call to action: African nations must pool financial and technical resources, negotiate long term financing, and share technology, from satellite based hazard tracking to shared Geographic Information Systems (GIS), so that even the least resourced member states can access life saving infrastructure.
Because early warning systems shouldn't be a privilege of the well funded. They should be a shared shield for the whole continent.

An enquiry made on Adam Wharton, as revealed on @talkSPORT last week.
Alexis Mac Allister appreciated, but #LFC have no plans to lose this late in the window.
Manu Kone also under consideration, as @Jack_Gaughan called.
Understand City also made an approach for Alex Scott last month. Bournemouth have already turned down a £64m bid from Chelsea and insist the midfielder is not for sale.👕

Xabi Alonso has refused to rule out the possibility of Enzo Fernandez leaving Chelsea before the close of this summer’s transfer window.
“Enzo is a Chelsea player, he’s a top, top player,” the Chelsea manager said on Thursday. “He’s training really, really well since he started with the team, very integrated. We are happy with him and he’s getting ready for Monday.”
Asked if Fernandez had voiced a desire to stay at Chelsea, Alonso replied: “He’s training really well with a good attitude, and that’s what we want. He’s trying to do his best to prepare for the kick-off of the Premier League.”

Manchester City retain their interest in Enzo Fernandez despite Chelsea's deadline to make a £120m offer passing.
Specific exit terms given to Fernandez's camp since May, but Manchester City may now have to offer a different structure/number for Chelsea to consider. And Chelsea would likely also source a replacement.
Manchester City are prepared to do both Fernandez and Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Although Chelsea are comfortable if Fernandez stays, and planning for this post-deadline, #MCFC don't consider the Argentine midfielder off the market.🇦🇷

@vcoparah Content creators are just hoping to create more news on Enzo. Chelsea was clear about the terms and conditions, which no club even tried to bid to trigger a negotiation.
City has spent over 200 Million Pounds on 2 midfielders. I don't see them bidding for Enzo.
@vcoparah Enzo case is now closed for this window. Big clubs don't change their words. Part 2 of the story may resurface next summer.
🚨🔵 Chelsea have not received any official bid for Enzo Fernández — as their own 5pm UK time ‘deadline’ has now passed.
#CFC inform £120m verbal ‘exit clause’ made available to Enzo’s camp for potential suitors at end of May is now off the table.
