My mind is still blown when I look at where we are today
I had an interview with Netflix the other day and they asked me “what’s something that you’ve overcome that most people wouldn’t know”. I knew exactly what it was
Then he asked me how long it had been and I realized…I never really did the math on it.
Right there in the middle of the interview I sat there, looking at my championship belt while thinking of where I was only 10 years ago.
I remember weaning myself off hard drugs, the sweat, the sickness, the tears, and most importantly the bridges I burned.
It took me forever to pick myself up out the dirt but right there in that moment I understood why every struggle had to happen.
This belt went from being all the hard work put into sport, to all the hard work put into me over years while no one was watching.
So blessed to be where we are today and excited to see where we end up
