True story. A member of the Maasai tribe was attending college in New York when 9/11 happened. He returned to Kenya and told the tribe what happened, and they offered the U.S. 14 cows - a sacred animal to them- as a gesture of solidarity. The U.S. couldn't accept, and those cows

Jim Carrey got $7 million for Dumb and Dumber. Jeff Daniels got $50,000. The movie made $247 million.
The studio didn't even want Daniels. He says they lowballed him on purpose, expecting him to say no. He said yes. The night before he flew out, his agents called him at midnight: "You're a serious actor, and this will ruin your career."
Carrey had just broken out with Ace Ventura. His first offer was $350,000, and he negotiated up to $7 million. Daniels says he hadn't worked in nine months and wanted to switch to comedy.
His answer to the agents, in his words: "Unless they cut those out of the movie, I'm gonna score."
The case for the studio: Carrey was the proven star. Daniels was a risk, and he signed the deal.
The case for Daniels: he carried half the movie. His paycheck was 0.02% of what it made.
In the video below, the host asks him straight: they lowballed you thinking you'd say no, true or false?
If you're the co-lead, should you get paid like one?

Yeah and that's the problem. Aang not killing the Firelord wasn't just a ratings thing, if he did, the whole Fire Nation would be terrified of him, seeing that all the propaganda against the Avatar was justified. The world enter an era of fear, not peace.

We appear to have finally hit the part of the right-wing conquest where the leftists are now cutting off their tails to try and run. Pizzacake is literally the exact person who was complaining about “ableist language” like 5 years ago.

Joe Rogan just unloaded on the corrupt two-party system.
“We’ve got this ridiculous binary.”
“This ridiculous red vs. blue narrative.”
Then, comedian Jimmy Carr named the real political divide:
“Freedom vs. authoritarian.”
“Left-right doesn’t make a lot of sense to me anymore.”
“They’re very old concepts.”
This is the heart of the political revolution we’re building.
Our new party is not left-wing or right-wing.
We are anti-corruption.
Anti-war.
Anti-mandates.
Pro-transparency.
Pro-accountability.
Pro-decentralization.
And we’re building this political revolution from the ground up.
We are organizing at the local level to fight surveillance, unravel corruption, and reverse the corporate takeover of our country.

You know what's funny? Both series have the leading heroine partner be a goofy blonde they eventually end up with. Yet not only does Ron feel more like an equal then Adrien despite being labled a sidekick, KimRon is a way better executed romance then Adrienette.

It's just absurd. So this will just be deducted from everyone's tax return next year. But hey, here's a check now before the election. Don't worry about those pesky terms and conditions

Jerry Seinfeld reveals his biggest regret from Seinfeld, a joke he begged Larry David to include, but Larry refused.
Jerry Seinfeld: “This is what my greatest regret of the entire series is.”
“We had this bit on the show where, if you wanted someone to keep a secret, you would say to them, ‘Will you put it in the vault?’ And they would go, ‘It’s in the vault.’”
“There was an opportunity for a character to say, ‘But it’s in the vault,’ and the other character would go, ‘Oy, the vault.’”
“I said, ‘Larry, we’re never going to get a chance to make this joke ever again in our lives. To go, “Oy, the vault.”’ Do you remember this conversation?”
Larry David: “Yeah.”
Jerry Seinfeld: “And I begged him, and he didn’t want to do it.”

In a @aibm_org survey, the vast majority of men across the political spectrum say boys’ and men’s issues aren’t taken seriously and fathers don’t get enough support. It’s time for men to make their voices heard, because you know what? They’re not “misogynists!”… They’re right.

Dave Foley was ordered to pay his ex-wife $17,700 a month in child support. That was five times what he actually earned.
If he set foot in Canada, he would be arrested at the border.
When he asked the judge how he’d feed his daughter from his second marriage, he says the court’s answer was simple: “They can rot in hell.”
In 1997, Foley was starring on NBC’s NewsRadio and making about $1 million a year. That year, he separated from his first wife, Tabatha Southey.
An Ontario judge set his payments at $17,700 a month, or $212,400 a year after taxes, based on his sitcom salary.
Two years later, NBC canceled the show. His income dropped by nearly 80%.
He went back to court to lower the payments. The judge said no. The court ruled he had made $1 million once, so he should keep paying like he still did.
His ex-wife lived in a $2.5 million house on a park in Toronto. Foley rented a small loft in downtown LA.
By 2011, he owed more than $500,000 in back payments. Ontario threatened to pull his passport and issued a warrant for his arrest if he came home.
In the video below, Foley explains the math: “I’m paying about five times my income every month in child support, based on a show that hasn’t been on for 12 years.”
He couldn’t work in Canada again until he landed a new sitcom in 2014 and had his paychecks garnished at the source.
The case for the court: a parent shouldn’t get to slash support just because their career slows down.
The case for Dave: locking a canceled actor into 1990s sitcom money under threat of prison is extortion.
Should child support be tied to what you earn today, or the best year you ever had?
