Opus 5.5 decided to be Haiku on the first try 😅
From a simple prototype to a detailed island with a phoenix - about 11 minutes of work with Opus 5.5
A volcano, shimmering lava, and a fiery phoenix, all built from around 30,000 voxels. One HTML file using Three.js, everything created in code, no premade models
Claude Opus 5.5: first attempt → final result in 21 minutes 🐢🐋
A tiny world on the back of a flying turtle. Autumn trees, a lighthouse, a waterfall pouring into the clouds, and a whale swimming through the sky
One HTML file, Three.js, 30,000+ voxels. No premade assets
Glad I didn’t stop at the first version
Astra, what happened to you? 👀
Did they “fix” her? She used to produce much stronger results. I gave Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra the same prompt: create an interactive mangrove island with Three.js and WebGL, complete with custom water shaders, animated wildlife, and synchronized fireflies
This time, Opus looks noticeably more convincing: more natural trees, beautiful water, and atmospheric nighttime lighting. Astra’s treetops look like green balls, and the island itself feels rougher
Decided to give my jelly fish a pool😅
I asked Claude Opus 5.5 to build a pool and add the fish from my previous projects. Just wanted to bring them all together and see what would happen
$22.72 for this - worth it, or were you expecting more?
What is Sonnet 5.5 doing? It just destroyed everyone again🏒
This time it’s a pixel-art hockey arena. The detail and lighting make Sonnet my clear favorite
It took 1 hour 45 minutes, though. Three times longer than Opus and Astra
- Claude Sonnet 5.5 - Max, 1h 45m, $17.77
- Claude Opus 5.5 - Extra, 35 min, $14.46
- GPT-6 Astra - Ultra, 35 min, $22.72
- GPT-6.1 Sol - Ultra, 53 min, $11.66
Sol was the cheapest. Opus and Astra finished fastest. But Sonnet is the one I keep watching
Worth the wait? Which one would you pick? 👀
Opus 5.5, are you ever going to chill?
This jelly marlin cost $11.60. Just look at those colors and physics
I was going to compare it with Astra, but changed my mind. Hard to call it a competition when the gap looks this big
Sonnet 5.5 decided to mog Opus, Sol, and Astra
Just look at those colors. The water, the island, the sunset. I keep coming back to the Sonnet version
It took the longest by far, but honestly, I think it was worth the wait
- Claude Sonnet 5.5 - Max, about 90 min, $13.44
- Claude Opus 5.5 - Max, about 32 min, $11.13
- GPT-6 Astra - Ultra, 19 min, $18.22
- GPT-6.1 Sol - Ultra, 39 min, $5.01
Astra finished first, Sol was the cheapest, but Sonnet is my favorite here
Which one would you pick?
Claude Opus 5.5 created an entire Japanese island out of jelly 🌸
Cherry blossoms, waterfalls, pagodas, and a koi pond. Give the island a wobble - the jelly deforms and waves ripple across the water. At night, lanterns glow and fireworks light up the garden
All in a single HTML file using WebGPU. Cost: 28.88$
Which island flavor would you pick - ramune, sakura, or matcha?
Astra costs more and still loses on physics and colors 🦈
Claude Opus 5.5 vs GPT-6 Astra: jelly hammerhead shark
Opus nailed the jelly feel. The hammerhead bends and wobbles beautifully, and the colors actually look appetizing. Astra moves more like a worm than a jelly shark, the colors look washed out, and somehow it’s the more expensive one
A desert oasis inside a jelly cube 🌴
Claude Opus 5.5 vs GPT-6 Astra - who did it better?
Opus nailed the soft sandy colors and beautiful water. And that sandstorm is so satisfying to watch - I just want to keep spinning the scene around
Astra has lots of little details to explore: camel caravans, garden irrigation, and buildings around the lake. The sandstorm looks a bit rough, though. I prefer Opus here
API cost:
Claude Opus 5.5 - $24.70
GPT-6 Astra - $32.11
Which oasis would you choose?
What do you think of this jelly octopus? 🐙
Opus 5.5 showed once again who the jelly king is. Will Astra 6.1 and Fable 5.5 take the crown, or will the announcements be the only impressive thing about them?
Opus, did you really have to bring the whole neighborhood to life? 🏀
Claude Opus 5.5 vs GPT-6.1 Sol. One prompt, two 3D pixel-art streetball courts - Sol also got a revision
Opus nailed the colors, lighting, and atmosphere. I could just sit and watch this little courtyard
Sol mostly pulled it off, but even after the revision, some issues remain: all six players celebrate every basket - including the team that conceded 😂
$10.44 vs $5.33. Almost twice the price. Would you pay the difference?
Opus, and this is only $5.19? 🐬
Claude Opus 5.5 vs GPT-6.1 Sol. One prompt - two jelly dolphins
Opus surprised me again: vibrant colors, beautiful jelly, and satisfying physics. Usually it impresses me with quality, but this time with the price too
Sol at $2.92 fell short here: the physics weren’t quite what I wanted, and the colors lacked vibrancy
Just $2.27 more - I’m picking Opus. What about you? 👀
Opus, are you ever going to give the others a chance? 🏓
Claude Opus 5.5 vs GPT-6.1 Terra. One prompt - two little courtyards. $14.17 vs $1.23
And Opus dominates again. Those rich colors, the lighting, all the little details - the whole courtyard feels alive. I could just sit and watch it
Terra didn’t really do it for me this time. The washed-out colors and awkward character movement let it down. The price is the saving grace - at $1.23, it’s fine for experimenting
When is GPT-6.1 Astra coming out to give Opus a proper fight? 👀
