These are white people sleeping in the streets, not immigrants.

This is how the British treated Kenyans in their own country. For 68 years, the British treated Kenyans like strangers in their own country. They stole ancestral lands, they raped, they killed. They drove families off their land, imposed racial segregation, exploited African labour and brutally crushed resistance. During the Mau Mau uprising, thousands were killed, and tens of thousands were detained in a colonial system notorious for torture, executions and all manner of abuses. Imagine being born in the land of your ancestors, only to be treated as a lesser human being by foreigners who arrived from thousands of miles away, stole your land and dictated how you should live. Kenyans were fighting to be free in their own country. The British were fighting to keep what was never theirs. Never let anyone romanticise colonialism.
