Earlier this week, we got a chance to visit 2 beautiful places namely the Larabanga Mosque, founded in 1421 and Mole National Park in the Savannah region. We were lucky to spot a herd of Elephants within the first 20 minutes of our game drive.

Financial inclusion must go beyond access to financial services to deliver meaningful improvements in the lives of Ghanaians.
At the Financial Health Leadership Roundtable with Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health, discussions focused on strengthening financial wellbeing through responsible credit, innovation and greater financial resilience.
Our commitment is to a financial system that supports households, empowers businesses and creates opportunities for sustainable growth.

Africa must not only be part of the conversation. We must help shape the agenda.
Yesterday, I engaged with African Group experts from the @UN's 2nd and 3rd Committees on how we can strengthen Africa’s collective voice, advance our priorities and turn commitments into action.

Gender equality and women’s empowerment are vital in shaping the future we envision on the #SDGs.
Across Africa, we see it in the enterprises women build, the peace they broker and the institutions they lead.
It was a pleasure to meet Sima Bahous (@unwomenchief), Executive Director of UN Women.
Working closely with @unwomenNG, @UN_Nigeria looks forward to joint efforts to advance women’s economic empowerment, women’s political leadership and gender equality across the country.

Today, I welcomed Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health, to Bank Square for the Financial Health Leadership Roundtable.
Her Majesty’s leadership, alongside development partners, is advancing financial health across countries, with a focus on helping people manage daily needs, withstand shocks and plan confidently for the future.
This agenda aligns with Ghana’s financial inclusion strategy and the Bank of Ghana’s own enterprise strategy, which places financial inclusion and public trust among our priorities. Our shared goal is to ensure that greater access to financial services translates into meaningful improvements in people’s lives.
Together with industry leaders, fellow regulators and development partners, we exchanged ideas on expanding responsible credit for MSMEs, women and smallholder farmers, strengthening savings and insurance, and using technology and financial education to deliver better outcomes.
I thank Her Majesty and all participants for bringing their perspectives and experience to this important discussion. These partnerships will be essential as we turn ideas into practical action.

Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Hon. Prof. dr. Amon Murwira, received Letters of Credence from the incoming UN Women Country Representative, Ms. Anna Louise Nylin, at the Munhumutapa Offices in Harare.
The engagement marks an important step in strengthening cooperation between the Government of Zimbabwe and UN Women to advance gender equality, women's empowerment, and the protection of women's rights.
Through this partnership, Zimbabwe and UN Women will continue working to expand opportunities for women and girls, promote their participation in leadership and decision-making, strengthen economic empowerment, and address challenges such as gender-based violence.
As Zimbabwe prepares to serve as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2027–2028 term, the country will also have an opportunity to champion women's meaningful participation in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and security processes, in line with the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
The partnership reinforces Zimbabwe's commitment to inclusive development, gender equality and ensuring that no one and no place is left behind.

A productive 3-day mission in Ottawa concludes!
We held vital discussions across agencies of government that focused on enhancing evidence-based responses to transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, corruption and rehabilitation; to accelerate ongoing reforms that sharpen @UNODC’s value proposition, improve its integrated programming and ensures it scales its impact on the ground.
Thank you, Canada, for your steadfast partnership with @UNODC as we build safer, more resilient communities globally.
Deep gratitude to David Morrison, Senior Diplomatic and International Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister, Global Affairs Canada, and the Departments of Justice, Health, and Finance, for the strategic exchanges on the execution of UNODC’s mandates across all areas; drugs, crime, disrupting technology-enabled crime, illicit financial flows, corruption, counter-terrorism and cybercrime.
A key highlight was the discussions on advancing our cooperation on the Haiti crisis, where sustained international support and targeted funding are essential to help local institutions dismantle gang lifelines, rehabilitate Haiti and its people, build its institutions and restore the rule of law.
Special thanks also to Health Canada and the Canadian Coast Guard for critical discussions on tackling the synthetic drug crisis and securing maritime borders. We focused heavily on urgent responses to protect youth from being lost to addiction.
I look forward to strengthening the UNODC and Canada partnership through expanded joint initiatives, enhanced intelligence-sharing networks, and robust capacity-building programmes.
Together, we are paving the way for a more secure, justice-driven, and resilient global architecture that contributes to safer and just societies. #PartnershipForGood

I received H.E. Laura Ranalli, Italy’s Ambassador to Ghana, in my office. We discussed partnerships in agriculture, digital development, technical and vocational education, and exchanges between academic institutions, including the University of Milan and the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
I welcome the progress made under the Mattei Plan for Africa, and its emphasis on agriculture, education and skills development. We believe these interventions must align closely with Ghana’s long-term development priorities, ensuring meaningful local participation and skills development that respond to the needs of our economy.
Initiatives such as the model farm project at Aveyime can enhance agricultural productivity and expand local capacity, and their greatest value lies in the opportunities they create for Ghanaian people.
I further highlighted opportunities for cooperation in healthcare infrastructure, medical equipment, workforce development and water treatment. These areas require an integrated approach, recognising that sustainable development depends on how effectively our investments across sectors reinforce one another. As host of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, Ghana also offers opportunities for partnerships that link investment and production to wider African markets.
I thank H.E. Laura Ranalli and reaffirm Government’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Italy, guided by mutual respect and a commitment to sustainable development.

The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Antigua and Barbuda afforded us the opportunity to assess the great progress we are making in our relations with strategic partners.
My bilateral meeting with host Foreign Minister His Excellency Everly Paul Chet Greene of Antigua and Barbuda confirmed that the first group of 120 nurses from Ghana are making impressive impact. Antigua has therefore requested more health workers.
Our new Visa Waiver for all categories of passport holders is expected to bring us closer as we deepen trade, tourism and people to people relations.
My engagement with Jamaican Foreign Minister, Her Excellency Kamina Johnson Smith highlighted our crucial Ghana-Jamaica Port Cooperation Agreement which is now ready. The Tema Port and the Port of Kingston are expected to have a comprehensive collaboration to boost trade, logistics, maritime cooperation and job creation.
Ghana’s latest group of nurses have also arrived in Jamaica under the labour mobility programme we negotiated last year.
I also held a substantive meeting with the Foreign Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, His Excellency Sean S.M. Sobers (MP) focusing on new investments, and expanding our oil and gas partnerships.
Ghana will commission our new High Commission in Trinidad next year.
We are finalizing air services agreements with our Caribbean friends to work out direct flight arrangements between Ghana and the Caribbean when the ongoing revival of Ghana Airways is completed.
My discussions with Australia’s James Buttigieg, Assistant Secretary for Multilateral Peace, Security and Candidacies set out our shared priorities as Australia bids for membership of the UN Security Council.
As Chair of the African Union next year we are forging closer ties with international allies to advance Africa’s case for UN reforms as we ensure Africa is permanently represented on the UN Security Council. We are also putting forward reconfiguration of the international financial architecture, AI regulation, climate justice, resource sovereignty, reparatory justice and conflict resolution.
I thank all my colleague Foreign Ministers for the excellent working relations and the tremendous progress we are making together in the best interest of the people we serve.
For God and Country 🇬🇭 🙏🏾

It was heartwarming to reconnect with @ahunnaeziakonwa and congratulate her again on her appointment as @UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser on Africa @UNOSAA1.
We spoke about how the UN can draw on its work alongside African governments to give the continent’s priorities greater weight in global policy and financing discussions.
I look forward to working together to ensure those discussions lead to stronger partnerships and practical support for the priorities countries have set for themselves.

The newly introduced TraffiTech system has been the talk of the town in Ghana since it became operational on November 1, 2026.
Following a breakfast meeting for Commonwealth Heads of Government, convened by Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey at Jumby Bay Island in Antigua and Barbuda, I engaged President Mahama, an active social media user, to find out whether he had heard about the buzz surrounding TraffiTech back home and to seek his comments on the public reactions.

2030 is in sight. The marathon to achieve the #SDGs is now a 🏃🏿♀️ sprint.
The next four years give us a chance to close the gap between our commitments, and the change we must see.
I left yesterday’s session at the Global Resident Coordinator Meeting encouraged by what sharper strategies and new ways of working could make possible.
I shared the story of Deborah Temitope Ojuade and her work on a robotic scribe at @UnilagNigeria's AI #UniPod. Her example helped make the case for AI that advances inclusive development by widening participation and upholding dignity. I also spoke about how @UN_Nigeria is supporting @NigeriaGov through the Integrated National Financing Framework (#INFF) as a Co-Chair of the INFF governance platform, to align public finance and private investment with national priorities and accelerate progress towards the Goals.
We can cover more ground together in this final stretch and #UN80 gives us a chance to run it differently as #OneUN, supporting countries to shorten the time from commitment to delivery.

Zimbabwean-born American Michelle Netsai Butler has made history as the first Black judge elected in Denton County, Texas, and the first Black judge elected to public office in the United States.
Butler, who is related to the family of prominent publisher and academic Professor Ibbo Mandaza, secured her historic victory on November 3 when she was elected as the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 6 in Denton County.
On March 3, Butler won the Democratic primary, defeating opponent Sophia Anwar and making early history as the first Zimbabwean-American to win a major party primary in the US.
Running as the Democratic nominee, she officially clinched the public office seat in the general election.
In a poetic turn of events, Butler will now preside as a judge in the exact same government building where she originally obtained her marriage licence and her first American passport.
She was born to Gideon Shambambeva and Victoria Njagu in Harare, Zimbabwe, where she grew up in Kambuzuma Section 6. She attended Kurai and Darwendale Primary Schools before moving to the US.
She has lived in Carrollton, Texas, for over 20 years, raising two daughters and actively volunteering in the local school system.
Prior to her historic judicial run, she worked as a seasoned community organiser.
Her background includes working on voter access and major political campaigns across Texas, including presidential campaigns for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Elizabeth Warren.
As a Texas Justice of the Peace, Butler will serve a four-year term. She will oversee Precinct 6's local community court, which acts as the first stop for everyday legal complications.
Her responsibilities will include handling minor civil and small claims disputes, evictions, traffic citations, school truancy cases, and officiating marriages.
