Stunning Space Jellyfish:
China launched a remote sensing satellite from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on October 23, 2026.
The Yaogan-50 03 satellite was launched at 6:15 p.m. (Beijing Time) aboard a modified Long March-6 carrier rocket and entered its planned orbit. The launch mission was a complete success.
The satellite will mainly be used for land survey, crop yield estimation, and disaster prevention and relief. The launch marked the 672nd flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
Netizens across northern China captured the spectacular rocket exhaust plume, with one of the videos filmed by @火箭摄影师JAMY_GoNg.

New view from space!
We captured this image of the Chinese Space Station as it passed over the coast of Hawaii.
At 12 cm/px resolution, we can see the expected T-shaped configuration of the CSS, with its solar array wings deployed and all science modules visible: Tianhe, Wentian and Mengtian.

MISSION SUCCESS | ZhuQue-3 Y2 Reusable Launch Vehicle Achieved Full Success in Orbital Insertion and First-Stage Recovery
On August 19, 2026, at 07:35 (UTC+8), the ZhuQue-3 (ZQ-3) Y2 reusable launch vehicle lifted off from the Dongfeng Commercial Space Innovation Pilot Zone. Approximately 137 seconds after lift-off, the first and second stages separated. The second stage continued its flight and successfully delivered the Honghu 03 satellite, independently developed by Hongqing Technology, into its designated orbit. At approximately 07:41, the first stage performed a successful soft touchdown at the LandSpace Landing Site#1 in Minqin County, Gansu Province, following the planned trajectory — marking the full success of the flight test mission.

The Tianwen-2 spacecraft seems to have performed another manoeuvre earlier today (22 June). These observations are done with the @amsatdl 20m dish in Bochum.

death of gateway?
? Reaction of international partners on changes to #Artemis - "I have had conversations with all my counterparts that contribute to #ISS and #Artemis. Everyone is excited to support ops on lunar surface instead of looking down from space. We're going to savage a lot from Gateway - comms, avionics, surface things - we were hardly at the point of no return - only two modules were being worked and they had significant issues. If we continued like this we'd looking down at our rival and watching and the fun they were having on the surface" -- @NASAAdmin

The ZhuQue-3 launch vehicle completed its maiden flight with all primary mission events performed nominally. The first stage flight was normal, stage separation performed as planned, and the fairing jettison and first stage landed precisely within the designated area. The second stage performed normally and achieved the target orbit, marking a complete success of the orbital launch mission.
During the first stage recovery system verification test, engines thrust throttling operated normally, attitude control remained stable, and the down range recovery trajectory was nominal. An anomaly occurred as the first stage approached the designated recovery zone. No personnel safety issues occurred. China’s first rocket recovery attempt achieved its expected technical objectives.
