This maniac casually decided, on a Sunday, to apply to 3 hackathons the next day. And as if that wasn't enough, he also recorded a 6 part video series about the whole process, and published them all during the same 24 hours. Now he dropped a thread with all 6 parts, go support.
I entered the @colosseum, @solanamobile, and Stocklana hackathons with a side project and recorded a web series about the process I took: 6 episodes of Hackathon Speed Running. Episode 1 sets the challenge. Can I turn the project into a winning @solana hackathon submission?

Giving credit where credit is due: A lot of this I picked up from @Voshy's Pitch Perfect talk at Solana Summit Serbia. It changed my goals of my pitching entirely. Definitely worth a watch! nitter.cf/BlastCtrl/status/21075…
Less than a week until @colosseum's Crypto World's Fair submissions close. The best products won't necessarily win, the best-pitched ones will. @voshy's Pitch Perfect talk from Solana Summit Serbia, for anyone presenting this week.

10,000+ Teams are competing in Solana hackathons right now. Here's Hackathon Speed Running: A mini-video series on how to win these, where I take my own advice. For those that prefer a thread look below 👇

$93M drained from @Ledger wallets, so far. The devices worked as intended. The weak spot was the supply chain: @cryptobilis, an authorized reseller, was sold under an NDA, and nobody told the customers. What happened and how to protect yourself.

A huge thank you to our friends at @BlastCtrl for showing up big on our Solana Summit Serbia. They organized the first ever Mindshare Summit and led the morning block on the Knowledge Stage on Day 1. Three blocks on marketing, attention, narrative and distribution, with 15 talks, and 3 panels. Every speaker got 5 minutes with one rule: attendees leave with something they can use the same day. They run strategy, marketing and socials for teams across this ecosystem. Mindshare Summit was another proof that these guys very much know what they are doing. @voshy also brought his Pitch Perfect keynote to the main stage, and sat on the Demo Day jury. He interviewed and judged teams, and kept giving feedback after it was over. If your team needs help with strategy, marketing, GTM or socials, reach out to them or ping us for a warm intro, you won't regret it.

This summer @SuperteamBLKN is hosting the biggest Solana event the Balkans has ever seen, and we're coming. We equipped @voshy with a Yugo and a lot of napkins. Belgrade isn't ready 🚀

Oh no, we did it again. Croatia this time. The Drakes flew from all over the world for a week in one of the nicest parts of Croatia, Istria. If you live under a rock: before Breakpoint Singapore, a group of Drakes met up and spent a week together in Bali. It was supposed to be a one time thing, but it ended up being so much fun, we had to run it back. That's how Drakepoint was born. During this first "official" Drakepoint, Drakes enjoyed wine tastings, truffle hunting, island exploring, chilling by the pool in our villas, and amazing dinners that turned into 3am conversations. The kind where people who only knew each other as PFPs turn into actual friends, between people who genuinely move Solana for the last 5 years. There will only ever be 69 Drakes, and 68 are already out there. But the number was never the point. The point is the 68 people you get access to: a small group of founders, investors and builders who actually like spending time together, sharing what they know and backing each other. Owning a Drake isn't having a cool PFP, it's getting in the room. And in Istria, the room did its thing. Someone makes an intro over dinner, someone helps a founder through a problem they've already solved. The stuff you never see on the timeline gets passed around the table. That's the Den. A small curated group with real reach that actually cares and shows up for each other. It goes way beyond that, through Lucid Ventures. Founders building in web3, consumer, infra, AI and across Solana can present to a network that brings more than just capital. A collective drake-telligence that can fund, advise, intro and amplify. Every edition makes the Den a little sharper and the door a little narrower. With 68 already in, there's one seat left. The 69th Drake is the last direct way in. If you've been following the Drakes, this is the moment to make a move. Drakepoint was a glimpse of what the Den is, and a hint of where it's going. It was a huge pleasure to spend this week together, and we can't wait for the next Drakepoint that's already in the works!

Berlin Blockchain Week plans: @voshy takes the stage at @SuperteamDE's Solana Summit on the 13th to talk pitching, and some of the BlastCtrl team will be around. If you've been meaning to fix your marketing, this is a good excuse. Come say hi.

Lots of people misunderstanding the Jupiter-Kamino fights and portraying in incorrect ways. I'll explain the crux of both issues. 1. The false advertising of Jupiter. When you go to a bank, you give your stocks or land documents as collateral and borrow against it. Nobody can borrow or use these stocks that you deposited. This is risk isolation, where your collateral is guaranteed to be safe and untouched. Now coming to the issue, there are two ways to implement borrow-lend. First is pools, like most crypto protocols including Aave, Kamino or any of the other ones. The concept is simple. You have allowed collaterals and allowed deposits. Users can deposit the assets qualified as collateral and borrow the assets that are allowed to be borrowable against that collateral. The ways to manage risk here are keeping different risk profile assets in different markets that are isolated. But this fragments liquidity. So you have vaults on top that takes in depositor assets separately and supply to these markets to ensure there's sufficient liquidity for borrowers keeping the rates in line. The second implementation is that of loopscale which is like a bank, where funds are collected from depositors in genesis vaults looking for yield. Then these vaults/bank lends them against varied forms of collateral put up by the borrowers. Risk here is truly isolated for the borrowers. Their collateral is not rehypothecated. The risk exists for vault depositors. There is also a second option where lenders can directly lend to specific pairs, in which case they know exactly where their deposits are going and against which collateral. I love this option tbh, but very few users in crypto actually understand and can manage risk. Now the main issue here is that Jupiter works like the first, but advertised like the second. Risk is not isolated like that of loopscale, but advertised so. Can a user not decipher it considering there is yield on the collateral they supplied? They can, but most users are dumb by default and it is the job of the protocol to not advertise falsely claiming risk superiority when it is clearly not. If done in a trad world, this is a major regulatory action, but in crypto, again brushed off as nothing because not many even understand except the labels which are printed out, "low risk". 2. Blocking of refinancing option by Kamino I'd say this is a business decision by Kamino to not make it easy for a competitor to vampire their userbase with misleading claims, or otherwise. Is it fair? Maybe not. If users love Jupiter lend so much, they can always withdraw and move over. I don't love Jup lend so much that I'd switch from Kamino to Jup lend fully, because nobody on Solana has as much risk averseness as Kamino imo and I believe my assets will be safe there for long term. AND as a major borrower of stables, Jupiter can't offer me the rates that Kamino can. I still have a lot in Jup lend because I borrow against INF which Kamino doesn't have. But coming from Jupiter a couple weeks after trying to bully @Titan_Exchange not to use their API, this sounds majorly hypocritical. Just like how Jupiter doesn't like others trying to eat their pie, Kamino wouldn't like it either. First open source your products, stop trying to do everything while your previous things are not yet fully cooked. Being an everything app is nice in theory but compounds the risk of something going wrong in everything. I'd still cheer for Jupiter because they are the protocol that was my go-to for several years and has a ton of cracked devs that are my faves on Solana.
