To finally bury the scourge of microservices, all we need is a hot new thing to take its place in the hype cycle. So how about just renaming monoliths to megaservices! That sounds like a hot new term that could carry at least three years of conferences, books, and consultants!

Argh! Who thought Black should be automatically applied to lines in the IPython CLI? The makes it less useful for education purposes, less useful for interactive math, and annoying when it rewrites your input across multiple lines.

If you haven't already seen this thread in the log4j aspect and the AWS credentials/env vars captured then take two and read these nitter.cf/laughing_mantis/status…. Thanks Greg for sharing and informing the wider community.
Replying to @Laughing_Mantis
Everyone: I just watched attackers infiltrate a private s3 and AWS instance by exploiting log4j on a seemingly unrelated host IF YOU HAVE AWS VARS STORED AND YOU HAVE LOG4J VULNERABILITIES PREPARE TO ASSUME THE AWS STORED VARS ARE COMPROMISED: TEAR DOWN, REVOKE, AND REISSUE

20y ago today, as a failing physics grad student I posted @IPythonDev 0.2.0. This opened the door to an incredible community: @ellisonbg, @minrk, @Mbussonn, the late John Hunter... who made @ProjectJupyter & scientific python possible. Too many to name.. mail.python.org/pipermail/py…

We love this video featuring BBC Micro co-designer Dr Sophie Wilson CBE and @EbenUpton. Eben owned a BBC Micro as a kid, and he designed Raspberry Pi to do what the BBC Micro had done for him: inspire widespread interest in computer programming. WATCH! raspberrypi.com/news/the-bbc…
