S&P DJI & KALSHI ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP
S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kalshi have entered a multi-year agreement to launch prediction markets indices.
The indices will track things like elections, supply chain risks, AI-driven job changes, and more. This will give investors and businesses a way to track and hedge real-world risks.
Over $20 trillion is benchmarked to S&P DJI stock indices. Prediction market indices are next.
What CME was to the last century, Kalshi will be to this one.
S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kalshi are joining forces to build the next generation of financial markets.
The Dow launched in 1896. The S&P 500 in 1957. The idea was simple: bring individual stocks together into a single benchmark, giving people a clearer view of the broader market.
Over time, products built around those benchmarks transformed investing. Index funds, ETFs, futures, and options gave investors ways to gain diversified market exposure and hedge broad market swings.
These indices became foundations of global finance. More than $20 trillion is indexed or benchmarked to the S&P 500 alone.
Today, this structure extends beyond stocks to bonds, commodities, currencies, and more.
The next step is to bring that structure to the events that shape everyone’s lives.
Through this partnership, S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kalshi will work together to create indices composed of Kalshi event contracts.
Think about what that opens up.
An index of political power. An index of supply chain risk. An index tracking AI’s impact on employment. An index of sports outcomes that affect broadcasters, advertisers, cities, and small businesses. An index of weather risks that shape harvests, energy demand, and business revenues.
Each would bundle event contracts into a single indicator, helping people understand how related risks are evolving.
Over time, products built around these indices could offer diversified exposure to those events and new ways to hedge their impact.
The events that shape our lives could become as easy to track and gain exposure to as the S&P 500.

WHOP RAISES $205M AT A $5.1 BILLION VALUATION, LED BY SEQUOIA AND SHOPIFY
Whop is a platform that helps people start and run online businesses, with customers ranging from digital creators and e-commerce sellers to businesses offering services and mobile apps.
According to reports, the company has surpassed $400M in annualized revenue, up from just $60M at the beginning of 2025.
Interestingly, Sequoia had previously passed on investing in Whop before reconsidering after seeing recent growth. With Sequoia chief Doug Leone even joining Whop's board.

Whop has raised $200M in Series D funding at a $5.1B valuation, backed by @sequoia and @shopify.
It really feels like we are barely touching the tip of the iceberg in a market larger than anyone can imagine.
We first launched Whop as a better way for us to sell sneaker bots, one of the most niche types of desktop software out there.
Total TAM? Probably $20,000 per day.
Who cares, tiny market.
But, what people discounted is the idea that there were actually 70,000 other markets exactly like that one.
Beyond the investment itself, I am especially excited to welcome legendary silicon valley investor @dougleone to our board of directors. Doug and the sequoia team are nothing but a brilliant, resourceful, and principled group of people.
My co-founder Cameron and I started building on Shopify when we were 13 years old. Shopify is one of the most impactful all-in-one cloud ecosystems ever created; @tobi has pioneered modern entrepreneurship the way we know it and we are thrilled to have him in our corner.
We have a tenet at Whop to be the dumbest in the room and I am very grateful that this has recently become a lot easier.
We are focused on markets, scale economies, and progressive media. If that is up your alley, please message me directly.
The $200M raised will support our expansion as we build economic infrastructure for the next century, continuing on our mission of delivering everyone an income.

JENSEN HUANG: FROM A 9-YEAR-OLD IMMIGRANT TO AMERICA’S HIGHEST SCIENCE HONOR
Nvidia co-founder Jensen Huang received the National Medal of Science today, recognizing his contributions to computing and AI.
His parents were also there to share the moment.
Born in Taiwan, Huang was just nine when his parents sent him and his brother to live with an uncle in the United States. The family later reunited in Oregon.
At 15, he worked at Denny’s washing dishes, clearing tables and serving customers. He went on to earn electrical engineering degrees from Oregon State and Stanford.
In 1993, he co-founded NVIDIA with Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem, developing their early plans over meetings at a Denny’s. Their starting idea was to bring better 3D graphics to personal computers.
Thirty-three years later, Huang is being honored for helping turn graphics processors into a foundation for scientific computing and artificial intelligence.
There’s something special about this beyond the company or the medal: the parents who sent their son across the world getting to stand beside him for a moment like this.
