June is Pride Month!
Historically, Pride gatherings emerged from the first large-scale protests for 2SLGBTQI+ rights. In Canada, the first demonstrations took place in Ottawa & Vancouver in 1971. By 1973, Pride events were held in several Canadian cities, including Winnipeg.

ALT White background image with colourful pop art shapes around the edges. A maple leaf with the rainbow colours of the Progress Pride Flag, which are black, brown, light blue, light pink, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet, and the words Pride Season Saison de la Fierté appear in the middle. The Canada wordmark is in the bottom right corner.
So excited…Scott Hebert is delivering one of the greatest keynotes, speaking teachers’ truths and the power of vulnerability, engagement and game-based learning.
Students desire autonomy, mastery and purpose.

Thank-you to all our friends from 6 Pines Farm who came to see us today. The students had an amazing time learning from you. #PandaNation #BeautifulDay
So disappointed in the NHL in banning Pride warm-up jerseys.
What is the message to our young LGBTQ2+ fans? Pride jerseys is a way to say we support you, you belong here…but instead we are letting deep seated homophobia continue to have a voice…

Hate has no place in our society, especially in our public school system. One can interrupt a meeting, but one cannot interrupt what’s right in education.

One small step into augmented reality…one giant leap of ideas!
Loving my 1st workshop at Learning Solutions on immersive tech and its possibilities for student engagement. Thanks Destery Hildenbrand!

Q2 Something I do enjoy is how it can build community. My Esports teams has a wide range of students, who come together and function like a team, which for some of them is the first time they are experiencing what it is like to be part of a team. #mbedchat
Q5 I do like using the term 'gameful thinking' as we enthusiastically apply gaming sensibility as the technology engages kids. For example, we had kids doing robotics and coding...which has high engagement and opportunities to apply gaming aspects. #mbedchat
Q2 Also, I love how role playing games engages students imagination, and enthusiasm. This past summer we ran D&D camps, and the kids where dressing up and really got into the spirit of the game play. #mbedchat
Thanks for the thoughtful answers, and I am so excited so many people are joining us from so many places. #mbedchat
HI Cathy! Thanks for jumping in on the conversation :) #mbedchat
