This is a seriously disingenuous post from the Met Police. As usual, @MetPoliceUK are complaining that their hands are tied and that they are powerless to act. That’s simply not true. Under section 11 of the Public Order Act 1986, the Met must be provided with the name and address of the march’s organiser. This has not happened, so the march is illegal. Furthermore, the Met seems to be saying that they feel that the march does not meet the conditions for calling for a ban under section 13 of the Act, so they will not even ask the Home Secretary to give her permission to ban it. She cannot instigate the banning process under the law, and can only make a decision in response to a request from the Met Commissioner. Why will he not at least make the case and seek her decision? Worse, the Met seems not to have imposed any conditions on the march at all. The Met can (without needing anyone’s permission) curtail the route, timing and numbers of people on any march that may cause “serious disruption to the life of the community”. That would be a use of existing powers under section 12 of the Act. The Met can ban face coverings. The Met can mobilise sufficient resources to arrest those who flout the law (and actually hand them over to the CPS to prosecute them rather than letting them all go at the end of the day). But so far, we are being told in private conversations that the Met has classed the march as “low risk” – though the Met denies this. If the Met does not classify an illegal march by extremists on the anniversary of the worst antisemitic atrocity since the Holocaust as causing “serious disruption to the life of the community”, then what is the point of having the laws at all? A few months ago the Met banned a UKIP march in Tower Hamlets without hesitation. But when it comes to the Palestine hate marches, they always plead impotence. It is two tier policing. Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley keeps saying that the law is inadequate and he needs more powers in order to do anything meaningful, but even now he is not using his existing powers. What is inadequate is his performance over the past three years, when antisemitic hate crime has risen to unprecedented levels – a clear failure of policing for which he has never been held to account. He must resign over this disgrace and the many travesties that have preceded it.
"Just ban it" That was a common response to us urging students not to hold a pro-Palestine protest on Oct 7. We can't ban protests & can only ask the Home Sec to do so if the risk of serious disorder is so high that it can’t be managed by conditions. That's not the case here.

BREAKING: @TheJusticeDept just released a MAJOR report detailing how Biden's DOJ investigated and targeted parents who spoke out against school boards during COVID, labeling them as potential "domestic terrorists." Examples include a mother who was investigated for being a "gun owner" and belonging to a "right-wing moms' group." Full report here: justice.gov/opa/media/146420…

This is terrible but one thing i know for a fact is that like the Lannisters, I ALWAYS pay my debt. Be it family or not, when I have, the people around me who were there while I was struggling or who supported me in any way will reap the benefits. Its the least you owe them.
I spent over £34k sending my younger brother to the UK. I paid his school fees, and he lived in my house for free, with food and accommodation fully covered. He finished his Master’s program, moved out, started working, made enough money, and opened a barbing salon with 8 chairs in the heart of London. He has never bought even a loaf of bread for my sons. He built a house in Nigeria without telling me. He flew his girlfriend to Spain for her birthday. One time, I lied that I was broke and asked him to send me £500. He told me he had used all his money but had ₦1 million he wasn’t using. I sent him my naira account details. It has been 3 months, and he has never replied to that message. Family is not blood. Now that I have decided to be wicked, nobody should blame me. I have seen all sides of human wickedness. I have repeatedly told him and other family members that if God had put them in my position, I would still be in the village suffering. The highest they would do is send me $100 and ask me to be grateful. I have lived the first half of my life for others, and now I have decided to be wicked, selfish, and stingy for myself and my sons. Humans are terrible. Just buy a dog.

If you're a Nigerian living abroad illegally and still supporting Tinubu, and I find out, I will report you. I advise other Nigerians abroad to do the same. You cannot cheer for Tinubu's policies back home while running from their consequences. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If Nigerians at home have to live with it, so should those who fled it. Come back and enjoy the Tinubu you support.

Messi has always been better than Ronaldo right from the beginning. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, both represented their countries. Ronaldo finished bottom of a group containing Iraq, Costa Rica and Morocco. Messi won Olympic gold with Argentina, assisted Di María’s winning goal in the final against Nigeria, and was named the tournament’s most outstanding player in China. Same stage. Same Olympics. Different levels. 😭🐐
