📌 TALENTACE
On-demand TACE + atezolizumab and bevacizumab vs on-demand TACE alone
In patients with untreated, unresectable HCC and intermediate-to-high tumour burden, adding atezolizumab + bevacizumab to on-demand TACE significantly improved TACE progression-free survival:
➡️ 11.3 vs 7.0 months
➡️ HR 0.71 (95% CI 0.55–0.92; p=0.0089)
Overall survival remains immature, with follow-up ongoing.
📌 TALENTOP
Liver resection after atezolizumab + bevacizumab vs maintenance therapy
For patients with advanced HCC and macrovascular invasion who responded to induction atezolizumab + bevacizumab and were considered resectable, liver resection significantly prolonged time to treatment failure:
➡️ 20.4 vs 11.8 months
➡️ HR 0.60 (95% CI 0.39–0.91; p=0.015)
Together, these studies highlight an evolving treatment paradigm in HCC—bringing locoregional therapy, systemic therapy, and surgery into increasingly integrated treatment strategies.
