Going to be a tough next donors meeting for Songezo Zibi and Mmusi Maimane, when they have to explain this.

Strategically it makes no sense for the DA to go into coalition with Action SA. The DA is the governing party in waiting. If they go into coalition with the ANC there will be grumbling but ultimately that will help them and provide no assistance to the ANC. If they go into coalition with ASA they either get damaged by any infighting which occurs or they help raise the profile of a growing competitor. Perhaps Herman already knows this which is why he’s continuing to berate the DA even though that’s not what you do when it’s clear coalition talks are on the table. From ASA’s perspective they win whatever happens. If they get sidelined they’re the opposition and they get to snipe at the DA whilst billing themselves as the alternative to both them and the ANC. If they go into coalition they get to claim all the wins as their own and all the failures as the fault of the bigger partner (as the DA does in the GNU). Whatever happens voters will be a secondary consideration in a broader power struggle.

Adriaan Basson spent 2026 inventing “AfriMAGA” so he could smear AfriForum, Solidarity and anyone who notices farm murders or state failure instead of debating them. While SA voted today he was crowing about US midterms and declaring Trump’s “dying star” had supernova’d. The same editor twice ordered by the Press Ombud to apologise for misleading claims is now lecturing Gareth Cliff on journalism. When your entire argument is a made up label nobody outside your newsroom uses, you’re not serious... you’re just inventing enemies. Supernova that, twat.
We saw what happened. Gareth didn’t. Gareth is not a serious person. He does not know the first thing about journalism. He and his fellow band of unserious pod bros will wither with the rest of the AfriMAGA gang who hitched their wagons to Trump’s dying star. Supernova.

Yip. They’ll be funding trans surgeries for kids by February. USAID will be back stronger than ever albeit potentially with a different name. Social media censorship is coming too, and frankly everything bad from Biden/Obama but now on steroids and with full scale malice.

Everything is irrelevant… it’s gone… all the dem demons will be back and the rest of the world will take the brunt. Seems the US citizens want a cult… they want an Instagram and TikTok newsfeed that agree with everything they believe. If anything is outside their belief system, their will vote with a spiteful mind. Let’s not forget that 90% of other side has no backbone (and probably no ethics at all) to do what is necessary… so evil was always going to reign 😩 The only country smiling is China… their competitive advantage is about to sky rocket 🤪

This is a friendly reminder that you can sign up for @GarethCliff’s informative Daily Briefing here: garethcliff.com/shop/ Now with added joy because it comes free with the scorn of the ANC’s leading propagandist.

Just a reminder that ActionSA is an Instagram filter. Here is a park at my friend's home that his neighbour maintains himself. Moya took credit for maintaining the park. I raised this with every ActionSA cheerleader and the mayor. Just got ignored.
ActionSA's photoshoots:📸 This is Faerie Park 🏞️. Hidden deep within Faerie Glen. This little public park are maintained by the residents themselves, out of their own pocket 💰. The one resident bought a Ride-on Mower a couple of years ago. Ever since keeping this park nice and tidy on his time & cost. I called my best friend living here and he confirmed the guy cut the grass himself 2 weeks ago. Even the hedges are maintained by the residents. Here we have ActionSA on their IG tour taking credit for something they didn't even touched!😡😡 They can't even tell you what area this is!! This mayor is great, but this method of recklessly harvesting and posting photos of fish swimming, taking credit while not giving credit is extremely unethical. I will approach this resident to see how we can assist him to put in a claim against Tshwane for his time and cost, while he has paying between R2-4K property taxes/month. It would have never crossed my mind if credit wasn't stolen. "Want ons sal self"💪🏼.

It's embarrassing watching Americans who think they won but have just broken their government to spite one man. Shallow thinking at its finest. What these midterms simply mean is that the people who hate borders are back in Washington. The people who sympathize with terrorists and jihadists are back. Every anti-American who wishes death on America is having a wild celebration today. This is not a Donald Trump loss; it is a catastrophic loss for the USA. Uninformed people are a crazy, shallow-minded bunch. Trump Derangement Syndrome is so clear. They are celebrating, but none of them can actually comprehend what Trump wanted to achieve for the USA. It is understandable for Islamists and foreign enemies who hate America to cheer this on, but it is pure foolishness for Americans. Trump is the lifeline of the USA. Trump remains President, but he is walking into a complete trap with a hostile Congress. He cannot pass a single law or bill because the opposition will block everything out of pure spite. His hands are tied on appointing judges and cabinet officials because the Senate will block his picks, and he won't be able to close big foreign trade deals or secure funding because he needs their approval for everything. An electorate voted to paralyze its own country just to stick it to one guy. Peak emotional instability.

Trump didn’t do anything to SA, everything that’s happened is self inflicted by the regime you and your publication help prop up. If you think anything will improve for South Africa with Democrats in power centres you simply don’t understand much of anything.
AfriMAGA made a bet on Trump, prostrated themselves in front of him, and agitated for their separatist plans in the WH. They thought it wise to expose this country to the vagaries and impulses of an unstable president. And they must own the damage Trump did to SA.

Considering the amount of cover you keep providing the ANC in order to help them escape accountability, I think you must own the damage the ANC has done and continues to do to South Africa, Pieter.

The African National Congress (ANC) administration has spent years systematically dismantling South Africa's economic and diplomatic standing from within. The primary architect of South Africa's vulnerability is not Donald Trump; it is the Ramaphosa administration's commitment to performative, grandstanding diplomacy. By routinely alienating core Western trading partners, the government voluntarily exposed the economy to external retaliation. When a nation's foreign policy is driven by ideological posturing rather than pragmatic national interest, it invites vulnerability. The attempt to scapegoat right-wing groups for the fallout is a weak diversion. The damage visited upon South Africa was manufactured in Pretoria, not Washington.

Dawie is correct. Go vote, and take 2 friends with you. If you think things are bad now you have no idea how much worse they can get.
One final time from me: Turnout is crucially important tomorrow. GO VOTE!!! Joburg People: This is existential. Turnout non-negotiable. Over to you.

We are now watching wokes attempt by to explain to us why AGOA is overrated, in short form as usual - to align with their attention span. Same wokes who can’t define what an economy is, can’t even explain the basic process of an automotive assembly plant, and can’t even talk to commercial farmers because they believe them to be crybabies who whinge about farm murders.
