Along with heartbreak, sorrow and rage, empathy and generosity of spirit have been hallmarks of this year we're reflecting on today. So many people have made our masks accessible in #Chingford #HighamsPark #Leyton #Leytonstone #Walthamstow. Thank you for that.
#LockdownAnniversary #DayOfReflection : thank you to all our volunteer mask makers, fabric donors & word spreaders who've helped keep people safe with cloth masks via food banks & other #WalthamForest community support projects. 😷👏
1 minute silence at 12 noon today. ❤️
We're very pleased to have provided another batch of empathy & solidarity via our sewing machines to @e17stbarnabas' vaccination event for people who r homeless, refugees or migrants without settled status. Thanks for organising another remarkable channeling of respect & kindness
BIG love to our ever generous partners in community @PL84U_Al_Suffa and @wfmaskmakers for making handmade packed lunches and facemasks for everyone vaccinated. Your outpouring of love was felt immensely, especially as it was so unexpected ❤️ @wfcouncil @NHSBartsHealth
The remarkable pop-up vaccination session organised by @e17stbarnabas for 100s of local people who are homeless, #refugees or migrants still waiting for settled status is on again & we've again made reusable masks for each vaccinee. Thanks to all our makers & fabric donors.
Thank you to our makers who have put their time, skill and empathy into making safe & comfy masks over the last several months to make sure no one is left out. Love in action.
Replying to @wfmaskmakers
You are phenomenal amazing community leaders that have gone above and beyond to protect our community. Some asked yesterday “can we really this mask?” Thank you for this kindness xx
A joy to meet @e17stbarnabas volunteers to deliver 258 masks to yesterday's special vaccination popup. We sent our care guide in advance for translation & Averil quickly arranged Russian & Polish versions with more languages planned for the June session (also booked up fast!).
We're supplying masks to St Barnabas's special vaccination clinic 30th May for local people who are homeless, refugees or migrants still awaiting settled status. If u have time to make some adult size masks in the next 2-3 weeks for the June session, pls get in touch. Thanks!

Some ace fabrics donated by Sara, one of our makers, along with some more masks. Thanks for topping up our supply! We'll give these out via #foodbanks & other community support projects in #Chingford #HighamsPark #Leyton #Leytonstone & #Walthamstow.
Another lovely batch of masks from one of our volunteer makers using these fab donated fabrics. And some of them have extra long elastics that the wearer can change to head ties. Thanks Maddy!

Gorgeous new fabric donation! It'll make some beautiful masks. Thanks Wendy! Plus here's a message for our makers & fabric donors from @TheLimesE17 : "You’re doing fantastic work for the community and your masks are works of art!". Lovely stuff. 😄👍

If you see this logo on a mask, the wearer is either deaf or wearing a hearing aid. Communicating may be really hard, as lipreading won't be an option, unless you're wearing a window mask. #BeKind #DeafAware #Deaf
Durable washable well-fitting #masks for adults & kids: If you're involved with a #WalthamForest community project that helps people to get by and they need free masks, we can help. Maybe a #foodbank at a #school or faith organisation? wfmaskmakers.org/how-to-get-….
