#TeamWheat @sdstate had started #speedbreed in winter wheat early in 2021 & come 2026 few lines will be cycled back into crossing block this fall as the performed in Elite trials. Three lines from our first speedbreed cohort enter state variety trial in 2027. 🤞❤️🌾 @wheatsd

SD winter wheat is 89% planted, on pace with the 5-year avg, and 64% emerged vs. 55% avg (as of Oct. 18). Growers report the crop looks great, and more rain may be on the way. 🌾 Full outlook below.

SD winter wheat planting hit 53% as of Sept. 27, and it's good to hear of growers putting HRW back in the ground after a couple years away. USDA now projects 2026 winter wheat at 53 bu/ac and spring wheat at 45 bu/ac. Full SD Wheat Outlook ⬇️ #SDwheat
