Man, I really miss listening to conservative talk radio. It was so much better than the podslop garbage we get today. Even in the 2010s, when I started listening, it was good. I used to drive around Oceanside all the time just to smoke a cigar, chill and listen to AM radio
20 years ago, after Republicans suffered a blowout in the 2006 midterms, Rush Limbaugh shared a perspective many of us are feeling today: Rush: “I feel liberated, and I’m going to tell you as plainly as I can why. I no longer am going to have to carry the water for people who I don’t think deserve having their water carried… Now I’m liberated from having to constantly come in here every day and try to buck up a bunch of people who don’t deserve it, to try to carry the water and make excuses for people who don’t deserve it.”

Rush Limbaugh saw his listenership go up whenever Democrats won elections. The podcastersphere (pro- AND anti-Trump) is gonna be eating good for the next couple of years.
Conservative media brands with outrage-dependent content models (most of whom have been in dire financial straits since Trump won in ‘24) are the real winners of the midterms. Democrats put up some real content monsters

My advice to Ron Desantis is to be the autistic asshole he was born to be and don't play for likability. He needs to play into his strengths. He's a Nixon not a Trump.

Pat Buchanan predicted Texas would go blue by 2030 in the book “state of emergency” and he sighted immigration from Latin America and other 3rd world countries.

Governor DeSantis GOES OFF on Vivek Ramaswamy. “How bad did they beat Vivek like a drum? Now, part of that was Vivek, quite frankly. I don't know why they would have pushed him to be the candidate there. My mom's from Youngstown. Ohio is a working-class state, very blue-collar. You know, Vivek, he's like a tech guy, did this Alzheimer's drug, and he wants to bring in people, foreign worker on visas. That is not the type of person that's going to sell. And I know he shot himself in the foot. I know he did a lot of other stuff to make it a real landslide against him. But even with that, it's like, you got to meet the voters where they are on some of this stuff. I think we would have done better in Ohio had we had a candidate that was more representative or more in tune with the interests of kind of these blue-collar people that make the backbone of Ohio. But they got blown out there.”

I still can't get over Texas really, the average Brit still thinks of it as some blue jean gun-loving truck-racing white-nationalist freedom-burgerland and it's fucking Mexicans voting for AIDS.

🚨 HOLY SMOKES. Gov. Ron DeSantis just BLEW UP and went on an America first RAMPAGE on national TV "I saw NO INDICATION that Republican senators were interested in doing conservative change! WHY haven't we done immigration, SHUT OFF H1B visas?! WHY haven't we CODIFIED Trump's immigration executive orders?! Why haven't we STRIPPED jurisdiction from the federal courts over deportation cases?! There's SO MANY THINGS we COULD HAVE DONE." "THEY DIDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT IT." "They say, 'oh, if only we needed 50 votes we would've done it!' YOU DON'T HAVE 50 VOTES. You NEVER SHOWED you'd do conservative things, even with 50 votes! [RE: filibuster]...I NEVER saw an indication that they'd do it." "This midterm was a rebuke of the president and Congress...BUT, a LOT of our voters stayed home because they were FRUSTRATED with the LACK of productivity from Republicans in the House and Senate." A fire was just lit under this man. Honestly have not seen him get that fired up in a LONG time We definitely deserved better from our Senate. Now, we need to repair and win in 2028, or Democrats are destroying America!

Any talk of “ICE hype edits losing the election” is a twitter-siloed misread of the media normal people consume and care about. They irritated leftists on here, and that’s about the extent of it. The truth is that the GOP hasn’t adapted to the slopcannon era of shortform political content, not that it’s gone too far. The DNC did adapt, and it won. Right now, 90% of the things Dems and normies believe about “politics” are just not true, in a way that has never been the case before. Epstein eating babies with Trump, etc. Only a few years ago, the “piss tape” and “Russiagate” took intense national media coverage to develop as mass psychoses, and even then only really weathered discreditation among low-info olds. Now, the vast majority of things you hear from “apolitical normies” are some sort of schizophrenic lie derived from a momentary partisan event 6 months ago — something you, reader, forgot about a week after it happened because you mostly consume news on here. The GOP lost among its base because of the war, gas prices, bad PR, take your pick. But if we’re talking about media strategy, it lost swing normies that it won in ‘24 because it has consistently failed to adapt to the meta of Lindsay Clancy-style TikTok parallel-reality construction. Funnily enough, this media environment — the total death of “legacy media” and “trusted experts,” supplanted by a decentralized online hive — is the exact thing many on the Right have wished for for many years. It happened… now what? As of now, nothing: hysteria is a commodity you can buy, but Republicans aren’t investing. They seemed to have missed the part of epistemic collapse where the “validity” of ideas is totally meaningless, replaced only by their ability to gain attention as a directional signal. Trump wins nationally because he is a gravity well for media attention, a unique talent; but the GOP without him as the candidate is totally excluded from the infostream, seemingly by their own choice. Everybody laughed at the DNC buying catamites like Harry Sisson back in 2023, but that’s just part of the game now — botfarming new stock characters into the popular mind in order to run participatory ARG-style media events designed solely to drive turnout. These things don’t happen by accident, they cost money and require learned acumen. Obviously this is only one small part of the electoral environment, but it’s one that very few people seem to be talking about. Epstein hysteria, the Cornell 7, Nolan Wells, etc. probably drove Dem enthusiasm in as big a way as Iran drove GOP unenthusiasm, and it’s an angle where the GOP seems uninterested in competing.

well it’s the morning after a generational once in a century Republican meltdown largely because Americans are worn out from Trump excesses and he’s doing an event at the ballroom construction site right now talking about it being the biggest in the country 👍 2028 maybe wraps 2
