Bought guacamole ingredients today - about $10. For a New Yorker on SNAP our Get the Good Stuff program turns that $10 into $20. Under @NYCMayor, we're expanding it 57% citywide and helping put money in people's pockets and food on their plates. More ➡️nyc.gov/mayors-office/news/2…

Fruits, vegetables, and beans are important to a balanced diet and help reduce the risk of diet-related diseases. But with the rise in grocery prices, they aren't always affordable.
Today we and @NYCMayor announced an expansion of Get the Good Stuff, a program that makes fresh fruits, vegetables and beans more affordable for New Yorkers enrolled in SNAP. The program will expand to up to 12 additional supermarkets. Learn more: on.nyc.gov/4Ae6VKz

A third of New Yorkers struggle with food insecurity. In the Bronx, it's half of New Yorkers.   As federal SNAP funding declines & food insecurity rises, under @NYCMayor leadership, we're addressing this problem directly by increasing Health Bucks from $10 to $14 per day in 2027.

The federal government is stepping back from its responsibility to fund food programs like SNAP. Under @NYCMayor, we are stepping up to address food insecurity by increasing Health Bucks, putting more money in people pockets so they can put more food on their table.

Many chronic diseases, including heart disease, are linked to your diet. But knowing that eating more fruits and vegetables is good for you and being able to afford them are two different things.
Today @NYCMayor announced New Yorkers enrolled in SNAP will be able to earn 40% more in Health Bucks, a program that matches what SNAP beneficiaries spend at farmers markets and farm stands. In 2027, the daily cap will increase from $10 to $14. More: on.nyc.gov/4BFnpgn

This #NationalLeadPoisoningPreventionWeek, we have good news: the number of NYC children under 6 with elevated blood lead levels is the lowest on record. Recently, I joined a Health Department lead inspector on a home visit and saw firsthand the people making this possible.
