🎙 Derive Podcast: “Leading the Onchain Options Market, Derive Pushes Innovation Again with V3” Blockmedia sat down with @nickforster , Co-founder and CEO of @DeriveXYZ , to discuss the future of onchain options. Rather than simply introducing Derive’s product, the podcast explores the new strategies options can offer investors, the potential of the onchain options market, the factors behind Derive’s growth, and where the protocol is headed next. Here are some of the key questions and takeaways 👇 Q1. How are options different from spot and perpetual futures? Options are more than just a way to bet on whether prices will go up or down. They can be used to hedge risk, generate yield, and express more nuanced market views. Investors can protect their holdings against downside risk or sell calls and puts to earn additional premium income. By combining multiple options, traders can also build a much wider range of strategies tailored to different market conditions and objectives. Q2. What drove Derive’s rapid growth in the onchain options market? Nick attributed Derive’s growth to a combination of market timing and five years of product development. Building an options market requires far more than simply launching a trading venue. Liquidity must be available across a huge number of strike prices and expiries. Over the years, Derive has built deep liquidity across options and perpetuals, alongside strong relationships with market makers and traders. As demand for new yield-generating strategies has grown, that infrastructure has begun to translate into meaningful growth. Q3. What are the advantages of trading options onchain? The most fundamental benefits are self-custody and transparency. Users can retain custody of their assets while trading and directly verify the protocol’s collateral, solvency, and risk-management framework onchain. But the larger opportunity lies in composability. Other protocols and services can use Derive’s options liquidity to build yield products, structured products, and entirely new financial services on top of the protocol. Q4. What changes with Derive V3? The core idea behind V3 is to evolve Derive from a standalone options exchange into an integrated risk engine capable of supporting a wide range of financial strategies. Within a single system, users will be able to manage △calls and puts △perpetual futures △lending and borrowing △spot-related positions, while the range of supported assets expands from crypto into RWAs. A new Vault infrastructure is also designed to dramatically shorten the time required to integrate new strategies and products. The goal is to make it easier for external teams to build and launch structured products and investment strategies on top of Derive. 💡 The core takeaway from the podcast The value of options goes far beyond leveraged speculation. At their core, options allow investors to hedge existing positions, generate additional yield, and turn different market views into customized strategies. Derive is taking that utility one step further. With V3, the protocol aims to connect options, perpetuals, lending, and RWAs, evolving into an onchain derivatives infrastructure where a much broader range of structured products can be built. 🎥 Watch the full podcast to hear more about Derive’s view on the future of onchain options and its strategy for V3. youtube.com/watch?v=-gy0U_rf…

Satirical 'Bus House' Meme Coin solana:EUB1eZBt4m3X4FbperWnKGJdvLsuLMu2YmJix5yjpump Emerges Amid South Korean Youth Housing Controversy A controversial public proposal in South Korea suggesting the use of decommissioned buses for youth housing "Bus House" has spawned a satirical meme coin on the launchpad @Pumpfun. Dubbed "Bus House" @Bushouse18, the token was created as a parody speculating whether "housing subscription coins" might emerge if bus-based living ever became reality. Trading at fractions of a cent with a micro market cap of around $2,120 and negligible volume, the token joins a long line of Korean viral trends being rapidly financialized into speculative assets.

South Korea Unveils Emergency Measures on Single-Stock Leveraged ETFs South Korean financial authorities have announced strict regulatory updates targeting single-stock leveraged ETFs (such as @Samsung & @SKhynix products) to cool market overheating and protect retail investors: 1. No New Listings & Ads: Temporary suspension on new single-stock products (including inverse & covered calls) and an immediate ban on marketing for existing ones. 2. Tighter Tracking Error: LP tracking error limit reduced from 3% to 2% for all ETFs/ETNs, with faster "cautionary stock" designations. 3. Strict Capital Requirements: Minimum deposit requirement raised from 10M to 30M KRW—payable only in CASH (no substitute securities). This applies to both domestic and overseas single-stock leveraged products. 4. Trading & Education: Mandatory education increased to 3 hours (with quizzes), automated loss-warning push notifications, and minimum trading units for domestic products increased to 20 shares. These measures aim to curb high-risk speculation amidst rising tech stock volatility.

Lawmaker Kim Byung-ki’s Former Aide Allegedly Pressured FSS to End Upbit's Stablecoin Fee Promo South Korean @polinlove have launched an investigation into explosive allegations that a former parliamentary aide used political pressure to manipulate an intense stablecoin fee war between domestic crypto exchange giants @Official_Upbit and @BithumbOfficial. According to reports, the aide to independent lawmaker Kim Byung-ki allegedly coerced the Financial Supervisory Service last February to force Upbit into ending its aggressive $USDC and $USDT fee reduction campaign. This unprecedented intervention purportedly aimed to bail out rival exchange Bithumb, which was suffering severe financial bleeding from a zero-fee promotion implemented to counter Upbit's massive capital advantage. Deepening the controversy over potential quid pro quo collusion, authorities noted that the aide secured an unofficial advisory role at Bithumb just months after the intervention, coinciding with the lawmaker's son also being hired by the exchange as an intern. While Bithumb firmly denies any knowledge of political meddling, claiming its fee adjustments were strictly independent business decisions, the unfolding scandal threatens to cast a heavy shadow over the integrity of the local crypto market's competitive landscape.

"Tokenized Stocks Are Securities": South Korea Kicks Off Tax Preparations Following @fsckorea Ruling South Korea's Financial Services Commission has officially declared that tokenized stocks are classified as traditional securities rather than virtual assets, giving @mofekorea the green light to impose immediate taxes. Dispelling widespread market assumptions that tokenized equities would remain tax-exempt until next year's crypto tax implementation, authorities plan to apply a 15.4% dividend tax and a 22% capital gains tax—mirroring existing regulations for conventional foreign stock investments. While immediate enforcement faces hurdles due to the offshore nature of these trades on platforms like @binance, the government is actively preparing to track transactions via the @OECD's Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework set to launch next year. This decisive regulatory shift comes as global demand for tokenized shares of major tech giants—ranging from $TSLA and $NVDA to local heavyweights like @Samsung and @SKhynix, with monthly transfer volumes surging 105% to hit a staggering $8.41 billion in June.
