What's one car you'd NEVER buy, even if someone offered you a huge discount?
Not because it's ugly.
Not because it's slow.
You just don't want it.
The first time you hear a proper five cylinder engine, you understand why Audi and Volvo enthusiasts get so attached to them.
That sound is unmistakable.
Some manufacturers spend millions developing engine sounds through speakers. Meanwhile, an old naturally aspirated engine is out here making beautiful noises without any assistance.
A limited-slip differential is one of those things you might barely notice during normal driving, but when you're putting power down out of a corner, it can make a massive difference.
The Mazda RX-7's rotary engine doesn't have conventional pistons moving up and down. It uses a triangular rotor spinning inside a specially shaped housing.
Completely different engineering, and that's a big part of why enthusiasts love it.
The early 2000s were ridiculous.
BMW was making the E46 M3, Mitsubishi had the Evo, Subaru had the WRX STI, and Nissan had the R34 GT-R.
What an era!!!
Some SUVs have become so big that the word 'sport' in Sports Utility Vehicle is starting to feel like a joke.
I don't care how fast an electric car is. There's something about hearing an engine start up that EVs just can't replicate.
Turbo lag is annoying until you drive a car where the boost hits and suddenly you understand why people love turbo cars.
People who drive Teslas really be saying they love them because they can get drunk and still get home without worrying about driving 😂😭

I'll be real, I do miss how with NA engines you can really get a sense of where the power is in the RPM range.
In Turbo cars, especially the really laggy ones it can create this odd feeling where you are on throttle and there's just no power yet. Everyone knows about turbo lag, but it's odd just how jarring it can feel.
I had a WRX with some mods awhile back. When you're not in boost, it's just a 4 cylinder. Kind of obvious, but it drives like it and sometimes it's like having two cars in one. BMWs are better at this, because at least even out of boost their straight 6s still make decent power.
I think Turbo 6 is the only true replacement for V8 in terms of power delivery.
The Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing is almost 70 years old, and look at it. 😮💨
Those curves, the long bonnet, the low stance and those iconic doors. There's so much elegance in this design without it needing to look aggressive or overcomplicated.
Honestly, some cars are just timeless. This is one of them. ❤️

The cars I couldn't afford at 20 are now the ones I'd least want to fix at 40. Which one is on your list?

Some of the best cars ever made would be considered completely irrational purchases today. That's part of what makes them special.

When law enforcement can't write a ticket because the truck is so aggressively squatted you literally need a front-facing camera just to see the road.
