#5 Completed tasks. Checking off a task sends a notification to the room and provides a positive feedback loop when others celebrate our hard work.
What would you recommend adding to make these work sessions even more efficient?
#4 Goals tracker. Keeps us on track and focused on the task at hand during the session.
Taking one task at a time (monotasking) cuts down on being overwhelmed by ALL we need to do, which can be paralyzing.
#3 Music. Music gets rid of distractions/noise around us and gets us in a good rhythm.
Pro-tip! Choose instrumentals and lyric-free music for concentration without the distraction of words.
#2 Other people. Working with others adds accountability and sets the tone for the room: let's get down to business.
#1: The timer. Working against a clock ticking down gently nudges us to work swiftly and efficiently. Without it, we run the risk of drifting off task.
This session uses a Pomodoro timer which includes time for breaks so we can hyper-focus without fatigue.
What's the secret sauce for successful deep work?
A mix of:
βοΈ Accountability
βοΈ Making time for it every day
