Covid is a serious illness, with long-term consequences.
Why aren't UK CMOs urging vaccine eligibility for healthcare workers and vulnerable groups?
Don't healthcare workers have a professional responsibility to protect patients from infectious diseases using PPE & ventilation?

@CMO_England as you state : "Healthcare workers have a professional responsibility to protect patients from infectious diseases."
Why then is our #NHS IPC continuing to fail by not ensuring HCW wear masks to protect us ?

Flu can be a serious illness, especially for vulnerable people.
UK CMOs urge eligible groups to get vaccinated.
Healthcare workers have a professional responsibility to protect patients from infectious diseases. We urge them to take up flu vaccination.

And have you yet considered the stress of workers with #LongCovid becoming reinfected in the workplace?
And the stress related to the lack of #CleanAir and harmful IPC policies ?

Advocacy is exhausting when you are this unwell. Huge thanks to @BethDobbin and everyone else in the community who uses their limited energy to try and make a difference.
Things need to change.
We need rapid and significant investment in proper research and treatment.
Hi everyone, we’ve been working on something 🙏🏼 I’ve written a second letter to Andy Burnham, alongside 360 sports people, to urge him to meet with me and fund research into my much neglected health issue which impacts millions of others.
I can’t believe 360 people signed in just 1 week, so many amazing names and messages still coming in of people wanting to add theirs (so feel free to message to add yours, we’re keeping on the pressure!!!)
The list includes 114 Olympians, with 77 medals between them (and that’s not even including Worlds and Europeans 🤯). Also some huge names from football and many other sports!!
Thank you SO much to everyone that signed, I can’t tell you how much it means to me when I’m truly at rock bottom ❤️❤️❤️
I know everyone wants their issues taken seriously, but this has been neglected like nothing else. WE HAVE 0 APPROVED TREATMENTS!!! Please listen 🙏🏼 @andyburnham @number10gov @UKLabour @DHSCgovuk

Such claims risk undermining trust in ppl with health conditions & the health professionals who support them

I really hope the UK’s Chief Nursing Officers take the time to read this comprehensive challenge of the current UK IPC guidance and take steps to address the critical concerns raised by @SupportingHH_UK.
The current guidance has many flaws and urgently needs amending.
🚨 Are UK infection prevention guidelines protecting healthcare workers and patients?
Our new briefing to the UK’s Chief Nursing Officers identifies 10 critical concerns and calls for an independent review.

It needs to be good and sustainable work. Not everyone can work, or do any job, and the wrong approach can damage a disabled person's health. There shouldn't be such a lack of knowledge and insight, and an employment minister should understand the barriers disabled people face.

And what seems to be missed is the amount of paid good work someone can do, and how frequently eg that’s why there are the permitted work rules for #ESA which has flexibility for #DisabledPeople
Some people may work limited hours and still need #Benefits

Disabled people will have to wait until next month, and possibly December, to discover the government’s plans for cuts and reforms to their support through the social security system, after this week’s budget offered few new hints.

The employment minister – backed by the Department for Work and Pensions – appears to have trashed the government’s long-held position that only “good work” is good for your health, while also calling for “everyone” to have paid jobs.
