I don't understand why every woman is not horrified by what these Israeli women went through. I don't understand why every woman is not condemning Hamas and the Palestinians who did this.

What the West Still Doesn’t Get It: Communism’s True Core: The Systemic Lie Most people in the West think they understand communism. They picture bread lines, gulags, failed five-year plans, and the collapsed Soviet Union. They treat it as a discredited economic theory – an experiment that proved that abolishing private property doesn’t work. Case closed, history moved on. This misunderstanding may be the most dangerous intellectual failure of our time. Communism was never primarily an economic system. Economics was the surface. Beneath it lay something far more insidious: a total, systemic, institutionalized commitment to lying. Not occasional dishonesty. Not spin or propaganda in the ordinary sense. Something deeper – a civilizational war against truth itself, waged through every institution, every classroom, every newspaper, every conversation, until reality itself became negotiable and the lie became the air people breathed. The Words We’re Missing The Polish language, forged by decades of living under this system, produced words for this phenomenon that English simply cannot match: Zakłamanie [zah-kwah-MAH-nyeh] – a state of total, pervasive, socially embedded falsehood, a condition in which an entire society is saturated with lies so thoroughly that truth becomes almost inaccessible. Obłuda [ob-woo-dah] – a deep, performative hypocrisy, the gap between what is proclaimed and what is actually practiced, the mask worn so long it begins to feel like a face. These are not words for individual liars. They describe a system – a mode of social organization built on organized mendacity, where the lie is not the exception but the foundation. English has no single word for either concept, and that linguistic gap is not a coincidence. It reflects a gap in experience. Cultures that did not live under communism lack the vocabulary because they lack the wound. And because they lack the vocabulary, they struggle to recognize the thing when it reappears in new clothing. The Continuity: Communism, Leftism, Wokeism What we call wokeism today, or the broader radical left, is not a new phenomenon. It is the same operating system running on updated hardware. The specifics have changed – instead of the proletariat, we have marginalized identity groups; instead of bourgeois class enemies, we have racists and transphobes; instead of socialist realism, we have DEI statements. But the deep structure is the same. That deep structure is this: truth is not discovered, it is assigned. Reality is not something to be understood honestly but something to be narrated strategically. Language is not a tool for communication but a weapon of power. And anyone who resists the approved narrative is not simply wrong – they are dangerous, and must be silenced, shamed, or destroyed. This is zakłamanie in its modern form. This is obłuda wearing a human rights badge. The same movement that insists men can become women will insist, with equal fervor, that questioning this is an act of violence. The same institutions that claim to champion free inquiry systematically suppress dissent. The same people who invoke tolerance as their highest value are among the most intolerant forces in public life. The contradiction is not accidental – it is structural. It is the system working as designed. Why the West Still Doesn’t Get It People who grew up in freedom tend to assume, at some level, that bad actors know they are lying. That somewhere behind the ideological performance, there is a cynical operator who privately acknowledges reality. This assumption is wrong, and it is why Westerners consistently underestimate what they are dealing with. The totalitarian lie, at its mature stage, is not cynical. It is believed. Or rather, it creates a condition in which the distinction between belief and performance collapses entirely. People learn to say things they do not believe so fluently, and for so long, that they lose access to what they actually think. 1/2

Kasparov: Ukraine is under the heaviest bombardment one can imagine. On CNN you see Gaza, Gaza, Gaza. If Israel did to Gaza for 24 hours what Putin does to Ukraine, there would be no Gaza. Russia's bombing of Ukraine is much worse than carpet bombing. 1/

Today would have been my friend and colleague Boris Nemtsov's 67th birthday. He was the best of us, big in body and spirit. He continues to inspire me in the fight for victory for Ukraine, which is directly tied to any hope for freedom for Russia.

Dear Americans, I am a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and I want to tell you something. Freedom is not measured in dollars. Freedom is not measured by the price of diesel in your car’s tank. Freedom is measured by a nation’s willingness to fight for its country, its people, and its right to exist. We Ukrainians know the price of freedom. We pay it in blood. Every single day. We will continue striking Russian military targets. We will continue fighting Russian invaders on land, at sea, and in the sky. In Ukraine and wherever Russia wages its war against us. Because we are not fighting for money, oil, or comfort. We are fighting for our homeland. For our future. For our FREEDOM. And we will never surrender it.

The Free Palestine activists in Jordan are advocating for a boycott of Andrea Bocelli, an Italian Opera Singer. His crimes? Bocelli has reached out to not one, but two released hostages after they were released from captivity and performed for them. Yaffa Adar, who was 85 years old when she was kidnapped, would hum Bocelli's songs while she was a hostage to stay strong. Bocelli sent her a letter and invited her to one of his concerts. Segev Kalfon, who was held for over 700 days in Gaza, was also reached out to by Bocelli, who invited Kalfon into his home and performed a private concert for him. These acts of extreme kindness are, of course, unacceptable to those who would do anything to convince the world that Israelis are not human and thus undeserving of any human consideration.

Trump: "Zelensky could have settled this war many, many times, but he chooses not to." Sick liar! This rant is full-on Russian propaganda straight from the mouth of the US president. There is no deal on the table that Ukraine could have accepted. All Russia has ever suggested is for Ukraine to surrender so they can kill us quietly behind the cover of occupation, like they did in Bucha and Izium, and like they are doing now in Oleshky and across the occupied territories. Trump: "We said, 'You can do whatever you want to Russia, don't hit the refineries because that's a world problem.' And he wants to make problems for the world. He wants to make problems for our farmers, our ranchers with diesel fuel." Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil infrastructure are crippling Russia's ability to wage war, not the American ranchers or farmers, who suffer because of failed war in Iran. Buying diesel from Russia directly fuels their war.

From a Toronto voter: "I can't believe this is happening. At 8:15 am Saturday October 10, I witnessed this person taking down Bradford signs at the corner of Bathurst and Briarhill. I spoke to them and demanded they stop. They continued. I called the police, but it is low priority to them. The person hid in a park, changed their shirt and went back to an apartment building on the NW corner of Briar Hill and Bathurst. I cannot believe that this is going on. Photos attached." #topoli

So -- we Ukrainians are supposed to just unilaterally halt our successful campaign of strikes against the oil industry of an aggressor power that is waging a war to destroy our country, give it time to rebuild that industry and resume raking in oil money hand over fist to fund its war, simply give up our only real hope and our only means of forcing the aggressor to stop, and just sit there and silently die under Russian bombs falling on our kindergartens and heating plants -- for NOTHING. All because one senile, Putin-obsessed petty tyrant decided to stage yet another stupid election-season clown show for the TV cameras? Yeah, not going to happen.

Millions of Afghan girls are denied an education while American universities debate “Islamic feminism.” The contrast couldn't be starker.
More than 2.4 million Afghan girls are shut out of school by religious decree, while American universities teach "Islamic feminism" as coursework. @Ayaan asks: where is the department of Islamic feminism in Kabul? URL: ayaan.restoringthewest.com/i… #RestoringTheWest #Feminism #Academia

Another way to think about Trump announcement today: If he increased US diesel imports from Canada by 4%, he would gain as much fuel as from this Russia deal. But the Canadians are global super-villains, so who wants to buy from them when you could enrich Putin instead?

Total chaos in Russian cities after Ukraine's strikes on just two Yandex data centers wipes out GPS, payment systems, taxi apps and the largest websites, across the country. Russia's centralized North Korean style internet is the country's weakness, the inability to relocate loads to neighboring nations, as Ukraine does when data centers were struck.

President Zelenskyy: Right now, our Ukrainian negotiating team is in Florida on a two-day visit, holding talks with the American team about ending this terrible war. An energy ceasefire could be the first step. This is extremely important for our people, for our families. At this very moment, the US president is having a conversation with the leader of the Kremlin, the leader of this war, the leader of this aggression. And he has reached an agreement that allows Russia to export diesel fuel. This means more money for this war and, of course, more suffering for us. It only strengthens Putin and gives him the means to wage war on an even greater scale. All of this money goes toward the war against people, against Ukraine, against all of us. I believe our team is simply being used as a smokescreen. And this is certainly not fair. This is certainly not how partners should act. And in my opinion, this is a weak decision. Unfortunately, a weak decision by strong partners.
President Trump: "I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, wherein it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace, another 500,000 Tons during the month of November, and 1,000,000 Tons immediately thereafter. Additionally, based on the condition of their Diesel Refineries, Russia will then deliver, within a short period of time, 3,000,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel. Between our TOTAL CONTROL of the Strait of Hormuz, and this great announcement on Russian Energy, Diesel Prices for Americans and, indeed, the World, will be COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST! Lower prices for Americans, especially our Great Farmers, Ranchers, and Truckers, is my Greatest Priority. This is a very big and important announcement."
