What is a man? I could talk about this topic all week because it's near and dear to my heart. A man in his truest form is one of the most powerful and beautiful creatures God ever created, and those lumpy things you get all over your bodies make smart girls stupid! Men are our gladiators, our protectors, the voice that cuts through the emotional noise, our swords when the wolves come prowling at the gates. You are the foundation of our society. We need you whole and healthy more than ever. Don't give up on us! You're in pain, and I see it. How do you navigate a society that wants you silent and impotent? Well, @GatesGarciaFL is one of the best men I know, and he has some thoughts on that, so give this a listen!

I'm glad she's excited to be married. If you pick right, marriage is amazing. Your partner should be your number one fan. I know my wife is mine and I'm hers.

It's getting progressively easier to attain cheap, short-lived dopamine hits, but it's getting harder to achieve and maintain some important human milestones. Easier than ever to survive but arguably getting tougher to thrive.

𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐕𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐞 I'm about to shock you... I've come to terms with the fact that I will never be a monster account or massively popular. I don't think it's fun to mock people or hurt them, and I "talk about Jesus too much". I wasn't always this way... I will never stop talking about what God has done for me and the transformation He made. I used to be an absolute vampire. I've always been conventionally pretty, barring the couple of years I shot up to 300lb wildebeest status. Fueled by childhood abuse and adult trauma, I could wreck and seduce a man from across a football field. I grew up surrounded by boys and five younger brothers. I understand men better than most women ever will. I know what they hunger for. I know what to do. I know what to say to climb inside their defenses and take up residence. I did it all. I loved it all. After an assault as an adult, I started seeing a trauma therapist who saw right through me. I'm female, but kinda not. I have a lot of traditionally masculine traits: aggression, dominance, even some psychopathic tendencies, though I'm not actually a psychopath. I see you better than you know yourself. Your motivations. Your strengths. More importantly, your weaknesses. If I know how to twist the knife (metaphorically) I can stop you before you ever hurt me. Working with Ed, he named what I was. For a woman, I am a wolf. Men will be drawn to me like gravity. Women will bristle and recoil because something in them recognizes an innate predatory nature. I trigger the oldest parts of the mammalian brain. That truth has carved deep loneliness and isolation into my life. Saying I am not like other women is not a cute line. It is a fact written in blood and carved in my bones. You would be shocked by everything I survived as a kid and still kept my sanity. My childhood didn't break me. It turned me lethal. Into a weapon. Then a series of events happened. I won't bore you with the grisly details. They brought me to my knees. I quite literally had nowhere left to turn except God. I was torn asunder and shattered. Karma, I suppose. I started Bible in a Year with Father Mike, and it was the first time I fully began tackling what I had always seen as a monumental task: simply reading it. Rapidly I saw that the whole book is about broken people redeemed by His grace. For the first time I didn't feel beyond saving. I didn't feel like I needed to tear other people apart to feel better. It never actually did, but a wounded animal bites. Bit by bit. Step by step. I began to transform into someone who likes to help other people, write about beautiful things, and heal. I made a personal covenant with God to start my day with the Word in some fashion: a sermon, a devotion, or simply learning new ways to understand Him. That has made all the difference. I still have to fight the compulsions instilled in me over a lifetime of survival. But now I have hope. Now I do far more good in the world than bad, and every day I am a tiny bit better than the day before. Last night I climbed into my fiancé's lap and kissed his neck. He said, "Even sick you're a dangerous woman." I smiled and said, "Only for you, baby." And I meant it.

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion: Universally, people acknowledge that the quality of houses are worse today than decades ago. Part of that is a shift to cheaper materials etc. But people never talk about the lack of craftsmanship. In terms of labor you get what you pay for.

A feminist journalist wrote an article accusing me of "inherent misogyny" and "ethnic and Christian nationalism" because I encourage men to reclaim their identity and "recommend that young men seek out a simple life with a simple wife". How awful. The name-calling is boring, and I don't care. They never wonder why young men aren't listening to them instead. It's because they aren't offering them a positive vision of their role as men. If I can help them build strength, courage, and skills, and become better sons, fathers, and brothers, my conscience is clear. If I had their approval, then my parents, wife, and daughters would rightly be ashamed of me.

Today, my wife and I are celebrating our fifth wedding anniversary, which coincides with us being together seven years. If I were to describe my wife, I would label her as one of the best people in the world. She has this quality that makes everyone who meets her fall in love with her. When I think back to the beginning of our relationship, I saw this about her at a function we went to at a friend’s art studio. My friend had this smart piece of artwork she drew of a cat that Michele commented on, saying how much she liked it. I made up an excuse to step away and plotted with my friend to buy the artwork from her, but not to say anything to Michele as a surprise. Mind you, at this function, she didn’t know anyone there yet. When I peeked across the room to check on her (and to make sure she didn’t see me buying the artwork), I could see her beautiful smile as she laughed in the company of strangers. It’s one of those cliché movie moments where it feels like everyone is moving in slow motion. It was a moment I realized that I could take her anywhere and she would find a way to have a good time. It was the first time in my life I ever thought about how my partner represents me and how I represent her. These weren’t concepts I consciously thought about until her. Without even asking, people would come up to me and tell me how much they love her. She radiated something unique that literally every single person who meets her is attracted to. I’ve been writing for years and even I struggle to put the proper words to it. The only way I can describe it is that she has an excitement for life and a genuine curiosity about the world that makes other people feel comfortable. I joke with her and say she likes everything, but it’s more like she’s open to what and who God places in her pathway. I’ve lost count of how many of my friends have said they like me but they love Michele. It’s a statement that I completely understand and I take as no insult. That day was the first day I saw her as my potential wife. Honestly, every day after that was me assessing her for marriage and making sure that I was being logical in my relationship decisions and not just caught up in my emotions. We became official in September 2019, and before the end of the year, I knew I was going to ask her to marry me. I’d been in many relationships prior, but she was the first woman I foresaw that my life would be tremendously worse without her in it. She’s my best friend and I trust her with my life. Every year we travel for our anniversary to reconnect and brace ourselves for new experiences. There have been so many circumstances where we had to step up for each other in a difficult situation, even in medical situations, and we always came through because we have each other’s backs. Nothing brings me more pleasure than seeing her smile just like that day in 2019. She is truly loved by many internationally. I know she’ll read this: Happy Anniversary, Michele. You are the blessing I never thought I deserved. Side Note: We still have the art work
