Thanks for all the DMs and concern. I want to make one thing clear: I spoke up to distance myself from these issues, not to get involved again in @pudgypenguins related activities. These days, I just want to hang out with the genuine friends I’ve met along the way I poured a lot of time, energy and heart into the communities, especially @pudgymalaysia, over the past few years without expecting anything in return. To me, this was always a community... a place to have fun, build friendships and enjoy each other’s company What changed for me was seeing some indivsuals has their own personal agendas taking priority over the community. It doesn't just stop at Malaysia but extended across Asia and the wider brand, especially around the time @FoxyPenguinApe (many have no idea right? was voted out. That’s a longer story but it's been all manipulated and the truth been swept under the rug) Having your own ambitions is one thing. Only showing up when there’s credit to claim, while leaving someone else to take the blame, is another. Having also worked as a community builder at @PenguAsia , this mattered to me The situation involving Pudgy Japan was one example. A proposed group photo never happened, yet I was still asked to obtain “consent” despite community members having already said NO multiple times. From my perspective, their answer should have been respected At least under @FoxyPenguinApe management previously, our role was to amplify what communities across Asia were doing. The communities did the work, and our job was to help their efforts reach more people while keeping the credit where it belonged. That is no longer the case but to "claim" credits whenever it see fit Yes the tweet is done by @pudgymalaysia account but again all of us @xNickChase @swiftie_hp was revoked of the access by changing the password and 2Fa Anyway, my man here says it all: nitter.cf/BR4ted/status/21078693… I’m grateful for the friendships and memories from these past few years. Those still matter to me, and stepping away doesn’t change that But to be clear: since the end of May, any gatherings or meetups I’ve personally hosted or joined have been in my own capacity, with no affiliation to @pudgypenguins or @pudgymalaysia. I’m still happy to welcome anyone visiting Malaysia...just as myself, someone who enjoys meeting people and catching up with friends Glad I got to meet so many awesome people along the way. Peace ✌️
