Warren Buffet had this figured out back in 2019.
Warren Buffett, "I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.
I am asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise. In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.
*Congressional Reform Act of 2019*
1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 7/1/19. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term's), then go home and back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive the message. Maybe it is time.
THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!!!!! If you agree with the above, pass it on.

Just about fell out of my chair when I saw this footnote in a brief from the U.S. Department of Justice.
The U.S. Department of Justice apparently takes the legal position that money isnโt property (for โconstitutional purposes,โ whatever that means). And the DOJ gives three rationales for that argument: (1) the government creates money, so you canโt own it; (2) the government can tax your money, so you donโt really own it; and (3) the constitution allows the government to spend money for the โgeneral welfare.โ
Honestly, these arguments read like a libertarianโs fever dream nightmare.
The first argument: Now that the government is off the gold standard (note the prominent citation to the Legal Tender Cases โ which upheld laws making paper currency legal tender for payment of debts), fiat currency is just a legal fiction that the government as easily destroy as create.
The second argument: Since we can tax it, we can destroy it.
The third argument: Since we can spend it for the general welfare, you donโt really own it.
But this isnโt a libertarianโs fever dream. This is a real argument made by a real lawyer employed at the honest-to-god U.S. Department of Justice. You canโt make this stuff up.

In any debate, look at who benefits from allowing information to spread vs. who can only succeed by suppressing it.
Look at the empirical track record of movements that declare some information to be forbidden knowledge.

The currently popular objection to this is "what about disinformation". Two things:
1. Disinformation often just serves as a higher-credibility way to say "information I don't like".
2. To the extent that false info does exist (and it absolutely does), the way to fix that is by making it easier, not harder, for people to spread+parse information freely. The track record of centralizing control of info flow is that the centralized arbiter ends up committing much worse disinformation than anyone else โย and now there's no way to challenge them.

Whatever they decide to do with this, fine.
But to argue a woman hasn't shaped the story of Star Wars is completely and insultingly naive to who Marsha Lucas or Leigh Brackett were, and that's ultimately the problem with Disney Feminism - it purposely erases the accomplishments of other women because of their warped woke world view that history started in the year 2020.

If this goes ahead, I don't know what this will mean for Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon, but at this rate, any merger is bad. The amount of media companies are shrinking, there's only newcomers in recent years such as Netflix and Skydance trying to balance things out.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav met with Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish on Tuesday in New York City to discuss a possible merger, Axios has learned from multiple sources.

We will do this all over again in two years. No one election will determine whether the nation survives or not. I used to really believe that. Then I grew up and realized that's the dumb stuff politicians say to motivate voters by fear.

#GundamTheWitchFromMercury: Literally could've been a #GundamIBO prequel with minor script tweaks.
Like, it's cool that they're doing a kind of cyberpunk Gundam, but they really needed a mainline Gundam show between #IBO & #TWFM that did something completely different.
