The SEC vs. Big Ten debate isn't just for football anymore.
At the SEC Cross Country Championships, ZERO American men finished in the top 10.
At the Big Ten Championships, 8 of the top 10 men were Americans.
Across both sexes, 95% of SEC top-10 finishers were foreign, compared to just 25% in the Big Ten.
What explains this enormous divide?

At last Friday's @SEC Cross Country Championships only two Americans, Claire Stegall of @GatorsTF and Paityn Noe of @RazorbackTFXC, finished in the top-20. Women from Kenya dominated taking 8 of the top-10 and 14 of the top-20 positions.

Coaches: State week is a good time to protect the routines your kids know.
The warm-up. The meals. The way they get ready to race.
They have enough to think about without wondering whether they need to change everything for one meet.
Earn FOUR last-minute lettering points volunteering at the Alpharetta Women's Half Marathon & 5K at Avalon THIS SUNDAY! Lots of you guys are needed to help make this event a success.
Coach S will be racing, so come help cheer her on! Parents are welcome to volunteer as well.

One wonders what the Women's marathon record truly is! Look at how many women have been busted who ran 2:16 or under! I believe it is 2:12-2:14. Truth is, AIU is busting more cheaters, especially in Kenya. I suspect that testing needs to pick up in Ethiopia. It is obviously not the shoes that make a difference, but EPO, which still seems to be the drug of choice. In 2014, I broke the news about #RitaJeptoo, who was about to take a big check from #WorldMarathonMajors. Until the punishments are so draconian (all money returned to sponsors and races) and the shame of being named a cheater, we will continue to see these posts nearly every day. @aiu_athletics is doing a better job, but big-time cheaters persist? Where do you think the women's world record for the marathon is, and by that I mean non-dopers? Do we go back to Paula Radcliffe's WR and start all over? This takes away legitimacy from women's elite marathoning. It damages the sport and terrifies sponsors. What do you think?
The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has provisionally suspended Olympic gold medallist and former half marathon record holder, 33-year-old Peres Jepchirchir in a move that shocked the athletics world.
