BARTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE — TEAM OVERVIEW Barton has an intriguing mix of size, athleticism, guard speed and shooting. What stood out is the variety of ways their personnel can impact a game. They have guards who can create paint touches and generate drive-and-kick opportunities, shooting that can stretch the floor, and legitimate size protecting the basket. The combination gives them the ability to play with pace while still having an interior presence. Rebounds in traffic, finishes through contact and provides legitimate rim protection. Mikey Williams | 6’4” | G Good positional size with confident shot-making ability and deep range. His shooting stretches the defense, while his ability to facilitate gives him another dimension offensively. Blake Rucker | 6’2” | G Quick, high-motor guard who competes defensively, runs the floor and moves well without the basketball. Gets downhill, finishes in the lane and can make perimeter shots. Frederico Whitaker Jr. | 5’10” | G Disruptive on- and off-ball defender with anticipation, speed and quickness. Uses his handle to consistently create paint touches and was particularly effective generating offense through drive-and-kick actions. Overall: Barton has multiple guards who can pressure the paint, perimeter shooting to punish rotations and size at the rim on both ends. Sprints the floor in transition and moves effectively without the ball. Uses his speed to get downhill, penetrate the lane and finish at the rim, while also showing the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter. PLAYER TO WATCH — MIKEY WILLIAMS Barton | 6’4” • Sophomore • G Good positional size in the backcourt with a confident shooting profile and legitimate deep range. Comfortable extending the defense well beyond the arc and has the skill to facilitate and create for others when defenses react to his scoring threat.
