I have left Red Lock Countless reasons to do so but I will list the ones most important to me It’s not aimed to be a safe space. I don’t think it ever was that much was made clear recently. This is not necessarily a problem for a small server. However, it has quickly become the most active Pokémon Unite community server, and the biggest community servers should always aim to be a safe space ESPECIALLY for KIDS This does not just include the recent drama. I have had issues for a while now with the entire system. The goal of red lock was to help produce more pro players. In the name of doing this it has created an extremely toxic environment of bullying and bias that I do not agree with. I believe you can make a system like this without being toxic and putting other people down. Yet it has normalized bullying and I’ve seen many pro players and content creators tell new people to “deal with it” “that’s just how it is” If you have encountered this environment, I apologize. It is not the type of community that I would want to introduce new people to. In the name of this goal, it has also given many individuals, who were previously outcasted for inexcusable behavior, a second chance. I believe that individually you can give people a second chance but do this without giving them unrestricted access to interact with minors (impressionable young people) and groups of people that they hurt. I am against transphobia, homophobia, pedophilia, grooming, and other forms of hate/illegal activity that many individuals in red lock have clearly normalized and done. Red lock has done all this just to create pro players. Maybe if it achieved its goal there would be an argument for its existence. But it has not produced a single top player. Not even close. After waiting months, it still does not have any special systems to help them even (coaching, special training etc) Not only has it failed in its goal, but the entire system is also corrupt as mods have shown bias for almost everything. All red lock has done is promote an extremely toxic environment that is PUSHING AWAY inexperienced players. The complete opposite of what I want our community to do. The Pokémon UNITE community should strive to be welcoming, supportive, and a safe space. That being said, I’d also like to talk about the alarming number of tweets saying Pro Players NEED to make a stand/leave the server Being a pro player is extremely stressful, takes more time than a full-time job, and there is the constant danger that you will stop being good enough. Pro players need the best and most time they can devote to practice as possible to reach their goals. Red Lock has done one thing well, it created the most active server ever in the community and is a great place for competitive players to find good practice. So of course, Pros are hesitant to leave as they will lose the best place to practice while if others stay they will pull ahead of them. While I can never fully understand, I know how much you are all hurting, I know how extremely horrible the recent drama has been. But please, treat others as humans and try to understand them as well. Let us strive to be a loving community. I know I have made mistakes in the past; which is why I have been hesitant to speak up about these issues. But I’d like to at least state that I will always fully support the LGBTQ+ community. Almost all of the best people I’ve met in Unite have been from this community. I am immensely proud that my team has the first two LGBTQ+ world champions @JunkyGS @Lazadin1 I encourage everyone reading this to leave Red lock, but please don’t force people.
