I got to this by thinking about how meditation is related to status - your relative power over others increases if you're less dependent on them, so more equanimity means *actually higher status*, not just replicating the feeling

There's the budhist love meaning something like "wishing someone well", and there's a kind of motherly/romantic love that at the extreme is more like "prioritizing them above everything else". It's more a promise than a feeling.
