Rest in Peace Juan Atkins “the godfather of techno.” His unconventional sounds became the blueprint for an entire new genre of music, influencing generations of producers, DJs and record labels, like ours. “I don’t know how you can love music and be close-minded... Life would be boring if you just adhered to the same protocol every day, so there are guys like me out there championing the cause for different and alternative ways of life and listening to music.” Juan Atkins Video by Juriaan Moolhuysen

Techno’s founding father Juan Atkins has passed away. As a member of Cybotron and the Belleville Three, and through his solo work as Model 500 and Infiniti, the pioneering Detroit producer helped shape the sound and future of electronic music. His agency announced that he was found dead in his hotel room ahead of a scheduled performance in Mexico City yesterday. Atkins was 64.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes people owning RAM is wasteful, and that it belongs in data centers instead. "From a global allocation perspective, actually, it’s quite terrible to have everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer."
