If you aren’t renting your house that you bought before covid say 2%-3% rate and you even decide to pay it off then let me tell you you are making one of the worst financial mistakes that you have done in your lifetime.
I should not get in your financial affairs but this speaks financial illiteracy
This is what you do instead.
Rent your house for almost twice as much as your primary mortgage and use the extra proceeds to buy a secondary house.
Why aren’t more people doing this.

Please explain. If a tenant fails to pay rent, it will takes months to evict. The eviction record will remained sealed under California law. On this basis, tenants are free to repeat this conduct to the next unsuspecting landlord. My question is, why should any tenant continue to pay rent?

Rent control doesn’t work.
Washington officials announced this week that landlords can raise rents by up to 9.7% next year. The state’s rent stabilization law limits annual increases to 7% plus inflation, with a maximum rent cap of 10%.
