In 1943, the Nazis stopped using the word “antisemit,” for fear that it “threw Jews and Arabs into the same pot.” Instead, in a weird effort to win new allies in the Middle East, they began using “judengegner” - “enemy of the Jews.”
When you are a guest on a podcast to talk about how to identify antisemitism and the first commenter makes sure to provide us all with an excellent example of antisemitism. Thanks, Paris, but simply saying “I hate Jews” would have been more to the point.
