scrolling my bookmarks feels kinda dystopian
i open the pile more than i talk to my friends
thousands of saves, almost none of them back in my life
the ones i reopen are the next idea i keep ignoring
me at 11: "i need a new idea"
me at 11:01: reopening the same bookmark for the sixth time
your next startup isn't missing. it's already saved

most founders go hunting for their next idea. it's usually already in their bookmarks. scroll back 6 months and you'll find the same problem saved 5 different ways. that's not clutter, that's your next startup asking to be built.
what would i keep if i wasn't afraid to delete the rest
most of the pile is hesitation, not taste
the saves you'd reopen tonight aren't clutter
they're the next idea you keep almost starting
before i open a blank doc to brainstorm
i reopen the folder of problems i keep saving
same itch, five articles, six months
that's not clutter. that's the roadmap

thursday, builders. what are you shipping today?
one line is enough
we follow every builder who replies
bonus points if your bookmarks already know what comes next
bun's creator: dependencies are over. rewriting a library is one prompt away
my take: rewrite the small stuff, keep the boring giants
4 prompts before any npm install
1. "list every function i actually call from this package"
4. "who maintains this, when did they last ship, and what breaks if they stop?"
the code is free. the trust isn't
picking what's worth depending on is taste
3. "write the smallest version of the part i use, with tests. how does it compare?"
if it fits on one screen, i keep my own copy
2. "if this package had a security bug tomorrow, what in my app would be exposed?"
if the answer is user data, it gets a real look from me
discord is ditching electron for rust and the early build runs on about 290mb of ram
cutting the bloat turned out to be the upgrade
my bookmarks are still the electron version
heavy, slow, and full of things i'll read later
i checked my bookmarks tonight
2,000 saved. 13 actually have taste
the other 1,987 are being archived 😎
if one of yours deserves a pardon, reply and plead its case #zeromarkit
appreciate everyone who bookmarked our posts this week
some of you saved us right between 400 gym memes and a soup recipe and honestly that's taste #zeromarkit
my apartment is a shoebox. i own a candle and a bottle cap
meanwhile my saves are full of "dream home inspo"
i have used none of it
the bottle cap was curated #zeromarkit

indie founder confession:
my bookmarks know my product better than my roadmap does
every save from the last 3 months is a feature i wanted, a voice i liked, or a competitor i feared
taste leaves a trail
how i name files: deck_final_v3_REAL_use-this-one.pdf
how a bot names them for me: "Q4 Presentation"
i will never find that file again
long term, zeromark curates taste from your saves so your bots do things your weird way
