For those who think they won’t have to pay to vote by producing these documents or won’t be denied voting is amazing. Those who are in emergency situations and natural disasters would be unable to vote. A Real ID, which requires multiple documents, won’t help you. Your grandma or grandpa probably can’t vote.

1/ 📢 New paper alert! 📄 Together with Vitalii Tubdenov, we propose a measure of the "Average Period of Production" (APP) to capture the temporal dimension of production processes. It is inspired by Böhm-Bawerk’s capital theory.

I’ve created a dashboard that projects potential GDP losses for countries if ongoing tariff escalations trigger a global trade war. I’ll be updating it soon with the latest data. alashkar.pages.iu.edu/Global…
I have several papers that explore tariff wars using economic models. Here’s what they tell us about likely outcomes (🧵) TLDR: All countries ultimately lose. While the overall impact isn’t catastrophic for larger economies like the US, it’ll be devastating for small countries.
