In celebration of the gloriously imminent weekend, here is one of my favourite Armstrong and Miller sketches featuring the RAF pilots wot speak yoof and dat, innit blood.
Any sketch that bears the sentence “No way, you massive gaylord. What are you going to do, shoot me in the head with your gun? This isn’t Nazi Germany!” in what is supposed to be Nazi Germany, is liable to make me guffaw, but the whole thing this is an absolute belter.
Incidentally, did you know that Ben Miller is a distant cousin of Abraham Lincoln. It's true!
Good day to you.

And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember’d;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.

These books are a nod to the hundreds of thousands who went out to NI, the Balkan’s, Iraq, Afghanistan and everywhere else, risking life and limb for a wage that never came close to matching the job.
We all did what most never will.

Remembering the wonderful Carrie Fisher, who would have turned 70 today. ❤️
While she’ll forever be remembered as Princess Leia, Carrie was also an incredibly talented writer. Many fans may not know that she worked behind the scenes in Hollywood, helping rewrite scripts for films including Hook, Sister Act and The Wedding Singer, often without receiving an on-screen credit.
Anniversary today of the battle of Trafalgar, 21 October 1805. Importance was to crush Napoleon's ambitions of dominating the waves, though he crusaded on land on & off, until Waterloo in 1815
