16式機動戦闘車. Bustle rack now finished. Very, very little left to do on the turret. Need to find a place to turn the barrel from aluminium.
We’ve all been there…

I remember reading a 4chan thread about a historic architecture enthusiast who somehow managed to get a guided tour of that fortress while they were filming porn there.
16式機動戦闘車. Bustle rack & a/c almost complete, just a couple of hinges to add to the cleaning rods stowage box. Somehow Fusion changed the display settings to the least helpful mode ever, now fixed.

We're bringing accelerated plastics manufacturing back to the US.

@nicholadrummond post reminded me some of ‘gaming the system’ that used to (?) occur with the Australian Army Skill at Arms Meeting (AASAM), an annual shooting competition. In effect, shorter barrels = greater accuracy & consistency.
But first, some background. 1/
Thinking about the British Army’s Project Grayburn, any new rifle ought to deliver superior performance. But when you compare the KS-1 selected by the Ranger Regiment and Royal Marines to the L85A3, it shoots less far and less accurately. This is entirely due to SA80 having a 20” barrel. Meanwhile, the A3 version has become extremely reliable, even if its ergonomics and weight are not ideal. If I were H&K, I think I might be tempted to offer an L85A4 with the following refinements:
(1) Simpler bolt, bolt carrier, and return spring assembly
(2) Lighter upper and lower receiver
(3) TMH with AR15 controls
(4) User configurable dual-sided ejection
(5) LOP adjustable butt plate
Is this “Polishing a Turd” or a sensible evolutionary upgrade?
As infantry battalions weren’t entitled to the carbine as, aside from a unique carbine variant issued to the parachute battalion, it couldn’t be fitted with a bayonet. (Excuse the self portrait) 8/

This footage from the Marib front in Yemen, first published in October 2026, shows pro-government tribal forces attacking Houthi (Ansar Allah) fighters in the desert from which the region takes its name. They use a surprising array of vehicles to take the fight to the Houthis. Although the terms "tribal" or "tribesmen" tends to conjure images of Toyota Hilux pickups and Soviet heavy machine guns or launchers- and those are certainly present- these tribesmen have a much more eclectic and effective collection of vehicles at their disposal. This is almost certainly due to Saudi financial and materiel backing, as evidenced by the M163 VADS (Vulcan Air Defense System), which was exported to Saudi Arabia by the United States, as well as an APC. Interestingly, what appears to be a re-purposed United Nations truck is also shown, with only the "N" remaining.
M47 Dragon detected. Old school.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The weapon is the M47 Dragon, the predecessor to Javelin. The one in the video may also be the Iranian clone the Saeghe.
